People worried about debuting two players in Adelaide... Firstly, that's just soft. Secondly, it's much better than sitting still on a bus for three hours then running out to play. They'll be fine.
You call it soft I call it player development Munga.
History has proven throwing young potential players to the wolves leads to disaster. Much more than success stories. Just an opinion of course.
Either way I suspect minimal changes purely based on our last handful of games. Long for sure unless some miracle reigns down on us and they get the bloke from the Castle as a rep.
Massive game in Adelaide, they will be absolutely primed to play in front of a raucous home crowd.
Play like we can (for four quarters please lads) and we win comfortably.

I'm with you Pardon me. I'm all for development. Byrnes and Bytel are as ready as they could be by playing scratch matches, they should be rewarded and out of form players demoted. Lenny Hayes was cleaned up by Archer in his first game, you've either got it or you don't. Some players need to be brought up in cotton wool, some don't. Everyone is different.

Fair point mate - hard to argue.
Lenny was elite though guess the only way to judge the 2 lads is to throw them into the fire and see

Not that I care much anymore
Im with you there. Think Narkles said something to that effect in the Autopsy too. Just not sure there is any coming back from that for 2020.

Will take something really significant for me to buy back in this year. For now I'm back to watching for glimpses from the kids, and riding out time until certain players are transitioned out.

Geary was a huge reason why we beat Carlton. Possessions dont tell the whole story. And the leadership he showed was clear.

And he's captain so he won't be dropped anyway.

Huge reason? Oh please...

The stars aligned in the first quarter and good for him but that doesn't erase years of mediocrity from him from my perspective. After that first quarter he did zilch. In fact he cost us a goal in the third i think it was when he squibbed it in front of goal which led to a turnover and goal. Then a couple of times after that he was calling for the ball as a deep forward, got the pass and was outmarked with ease while King is ignored. I was thinking to myself why the F is he demanding the ball but anyway it's done and dusted now.

I bit my tongue last week as everyone is on a high but to say he was a huge reason is blind loyalty.

Mate, he kept Docherty to 10 touches til 3 qtr time before spending the majority of the last qtr on the bench.

There is no doubt he was a huge part of that win.

Pretty happy to drop Hill to send a message that we don’t support players coasting

when you’re one of the quickest and fittest players in the league and you’re recruited for them reasons, then you’re expected to do these things.

Certainly hope Ratts put a word in his ear. Looked lazy as.
Can’t dine out on one excellent pass into the 50.

Nice to head into a game against the wooden spooners with absolutely zero confidence of a win.
In fact, we're odds on to play them back into form, and l don't even care anymore.

If crashing and burning, embarrassing themselves again facilitates new growth, then I'm all for it.
Bring the blowtorch please Adelaide. As hot as you can get it.
Crows by 37..

We play better when we’re not favourites, and we certainly can’t be for this game no matter how bad the Crows have been.

Had a think about it

In - Byrnes, Langlands, Sinclair, Phillips, Bytel

Out - Ross, Lonie Marsh Long Paton

I'd keep Paton, he's been good overall and same age as Coffield and Clark. Coff was off this week too, dropping them won't improve them.

Jweb for Longy straight swap.
Bytel for Ross, because the grunt will be handy against the Crows midfield.
Not sure about other changes, but I'd be inclined for Sincs to get a crack at it.
Byrnes stiff, but l don't think this is the right game to bring him in.

The boys need a rocket. Like the kind that strips paint from the walls.
They boys have the ability, just need to find their ticker.

Webster is shit too could be Savage or Roberton.

I dont understand the people saying that Ben King is one year ahead in development, better because he's been thrown in the deep end at GCS etc etc (which is all true), and then saying Max King should be dropped, rested etc. Shouldn't we be doing what the Suns did with Ben?

You. Don’t. Drop. King.
That’s all.

He had 6 disposals, FIVE clangers which included three free kicks against, so two of his six disposals were unforced errors. Kicked two goals and cost us one.

Yes he manned Docherty up and kept him to "average" output but to say huge reason? I have no words left.

Not sure you can include 5 clangers and gave away 3 frees separately. It’s either 2 and 3 or 5 in total.

Lol. You pelican

Kept Docherty to an "average" output? He completely blanketed him for 3 qtrs. This was the guy that the week before had 32 touches at over 90% in close win over Essendon.

Not sure why you are so fascinated with his stats. That wasn't his role. The fact he kicked 2 goals was a huge bonus. You also forgot to mention he had 6 score involvements.

Also, how did a guy get 6 touches, two of them goals and still have 5 changers? What did I miss there?

Free kicks are clangers.

I see a low sheen finish where it is warranted while all you see is high gloss. I do not agree with you and the fact you don't even know what constitutes a clanger says a lot.
