One of the most important aspects of a team is that they have a team identity that everyone buys into.

And Kenny has stated that we have an identity which I agree with and it is good and the players play it but I am getting the vibe in their footballing hearts they would prefer to play a different brand of footy.
Which is why I think Carr is worth trying as coach. Currently we constantly play football with a handbrake applied - everything we do on the field is laboured, and having a tooth pulled out would be less painful than watching us try to score. Once Josh releases the handbrake, we'll be a far more attractive (and higher scoring) team to watch.

Getting to the Adelaide train station this evening to go home from work, I saw someone who looked suspiciously like Gerard Whately heading into a convenience store - but can't say for sure as he didn't have the fake smile he's usually seen with.

He looked half way between a need and a homeless person.

It was a minute or so after that I realised I should have directed a "SACK HINKLEY" at him.

I'm not a Tom Morris fan, but you honestly attribute his success to those things? So basically you're saying he's a racist, a homophobe and a sexist, and somehow everyone that's involved in him getting to where he's at is somehow a racist, homophobe or sexist, and they see those qualities in him and decide throw money at him or give him a show or something based on those qualities alone? Because that WOULD be a testament to the power of those things. Otherwise it would at best be a testament to the power of people to ignore those things, or it could be a testament to the power of market forces or even how well he does his job (somehow I think you would disagree).
I'm saying of all the plethora of media figures in the game, why is the guy with a fairly recent record of bad behaviour the one to make the jump from internet and print to TV host?

At some point you gotta wonder if it's more than coincidence.

You were no orphan, a lot of us did.
Yeah but I was pumping him up big time he was my last ever footy coach and the best because he just had this ability to motivate and get the best out of everyone in the club - I thought when Ryder went there you’d just win it…but alas

You aren't the one that kept re-signing him.

Since last year’s finals abortion where our mids got comprehensively spanked, im now firmly of the opinion that Carr marinating under Hinkley’s stench for three years (and six years total over two stints) is far too long, and we need to look outside for our next Senior Coach. Obviously won’t happen, we all know a succession plan has been in place since JC got back.
Agree

New year, same problems. Maybe, just maybe, it’s the coach responsible for the game plan that is the issue, not the players
I find it incredibly funny. End of last season we had to address the lack of height in defence. Bassett out. We recruit 2 key defenders and same old same old. If we could see inside the brilliant mind of hinkley, we would find this

Much'n'all as you are probably right, and I am equally tired of a lot of Hinkley shit, it may take more than 3 games at a new club for Esava, who is relatively new to defending, and BZT, to find their feet, and for the backlines to gel fully. They were saying on SEN that we haven't lost a single 1-on-1 contest in defense in those 3 games so far. The problem has been when the ball hits the deck.

The idea that we haven't lost a single 1 on 1 contest is awesome but as you've said, it has always been when the ball hits the deck.

If you had a look over the Melbourne game, they started to play better when Pickett went to the half forward flank.

The majority of their goals were through their small and medium forwards and players in general like Pickett, Neal-Bullen, Sparrow, Fritsch, etc.

As everyone knows, we don't have accountable or speedy medium defenders and when you couple that with us locking the ball in the forward 50 and the opposition waiting for the counter attack into a completely open forward line. Well, it is a recipe for some easy goals.

I know this has been posted before, but how the * is stinkers 11-1 against st Kilda.

Between st Kilda, norf and gold campaigners he's 33-3. That's basically the "60%" win record right there.

Excellent at beating up the piss of the competition.

Started 7-1 against pauper Brisbane (2013-18) too.

His record is an absolute sham.

Effort and motivation has not often been questionable in his time, it's the ability to be mentally tough and execute skills, along with a more effective gameplan.

Our player can go out and run ragged and contest the footy, but they don't actually believe they're winners, because footy is hard and just existing and not being bottom is good enough. Better to be safely mid table than risk losing.

Lol. He's a ******* uncouth slob. Stop being such a Nancy.
He is also in charge of a high performance multi million dollar professional sports club and paid close to a million a year

Looking fit and smart should be the bloody minimum.

It's more than just fitness and dress sense though, people continually make fun of physical traits that are genetic such as hair, skin, etc.

It's pretty lame and comes across as schoolyard bullying type behaviour.

If only lazy media types with a platform to reach people, and our chairman, actually dug under the surface of his W/L record to expose this very revealing stat.

His win % against Top 4/8 oppo is a disgrace for a bloke in his 12th year of employment.

Agree with this 100%. That kind of personal attack just kills the credibility of the argument and makes "the white noise" all that easier to dismiss. It's not like there isn't plenty to talk about without resorting to that. At the end of the day if he was delivering, none of us would give a hoot.

I don't know when Hinkley leaves if we need a good tweak from Carr or a whole new coach outside of Alberton with ideas.

If Carr takes the job but does it his way, I'm pretty happy with that and I kinda get the feeling that is what will happen.
If Carr has been tainted by Hinkley, then that would be a problem.
