Disappointed in the BF Port Board faithful. We couldn't even get him to "least liked coach" in the main board poll. Sheesh there are some ostriches out there.
It's not the fact that he's a complete d*ckhead and a loser that's lost on people. It's the fact we are insignificant and small fry on the football landscape.

I dunno I find it absolutely hilarious that yet again when he had everything going in his favour he still somehow managed to lose.

Second place is first loser and we know he's the best at being that.

I thought I'd misspoke on the Koch poll thread when I said "let's quinella this Port fans" instead of let's get the daily double, but as it turns out we did get first and second (no one's gonna beat Kochead)!

What? He was dominating! A bunch of people changed their vote when he got to 119 so he stayed there.

Hinkley is the moral victor, like England in the Ashes and India in the world cup.

Unfortunately he narrowly lost the moral victor too after the judge's consideration.

The judges looked deeply in to the competition to determine who really deserved to win the most hated AFL coach moral winner award. After much consideration they determined the only winner could be...

Does anyone remember any other coach in history who is perceived by a club’s own fans with such stark bipolarity?

One cohort are absolute cultists — the man could coach for 50 years without a Grand Final appearance while mumbling the same old accountability-averse nonsense and they’d still back him to the hilt.

The other cohort wouldn’t p¡ss on him if he was on fire.

Totally normal and very healthy situation for a club to be in.

Sounds like the US political landscape

The polarity happens all the time.

The status quo being maintained despite the polarity for the best part of a decade though...

Ange Postecoglou going from 2013 Hinkley to 2016 Hinkley in the space of a couple months

“You get what you deserve,” he said. “It’s another game where we were well in control, probably should’ve scored a lot more goals, and we kept West Ham in the game and conceded two soft goals.

“So ultimately what you deserve really isn’t important, it’s the fact you haven’t got anything out of the game.

“It’s disappointing, disappointing for our fans (and) for us in terms of the progress we’re trying to make, but it is what it is.

“We’ve still got a long way to go as a football team and days like today show that.”

Adam Simpson getting into Hinky areas out West.

I've flipped and flopped over what we should do with him over the last 2 years.

5 wins in last 70 games or some shit. Spoon, 2nd bottom, multiple triple figure losses and he just hangs around.

Bring in Harley and it's all happy days apparently.

We are in a good financial position but we love money so much we won't pay him out after signing him up to an extension.

Funny how much time a flag can buy you (look at Bevo)

I know we've had bucket loads of injuries and covid stuff but gee whiz, at least you blokes are consistently competitive.

Good times. Interesting times, For both clubs.

Imagine if he hadn't won a flag.

The bloke started after Hinkley, has made two grand finals, and won a premiership.

Absolutely insane that anyone is allowed to so much as question his position given Hinkley's ongoing tenure.

Simpson or otherwise, there is nothing surer than West Coast being back up the top seriously challenging within 2-5 years. They have absolutely perfected the boom-bust cycle of salary capped sport.

Whereas if you gave Koch a crystal ball to the end of season 2025 and Port went something like:

2024: 10 wins, 10th
2025: 13 wins, Elimination Final exit

Koch would tack on another 3 years for Hinkley on the spot.

When new draftee Tom Anastasopoulos first spoke with Ken after getting drafted Ken brought up his experience coaching in Bell Park.

The man truly believes his hype.

‘I won two AFL premierships with a bare bones North Melbourne outfit, having guided the core of that team all the way from my time coaching the Under-19’s’

— ‘Pfft, go saddle a horse Denis, ya idiot’

The manner of that PF loss at home to Bulldogs and then the fade out this September should have been curtains for him. I'm not sure given the iffy finals record, that Port management couldn't have waited until end of the season to make the decision to extend (or not). Correct me if I'm mistaken, but it wasn't as if he was being offered jobs elsewhere?
