Oppo fans should be allowed to post in this thread only if they are prepared to publicly post that they would replace their own coach with Hinkley if given the chance.

It’s genuinely bizarre.

If Swans fans wanted a fresh break from Longmire, or Dogs fans Beveridge — flags and all — I certainly wouldn’t spend half an afternoon lecturing them as to why they should put up with him for infinite seasons when they’re the ones at ground zero with intimate knowledge of it all.

“It’s not his fault Ollie Florent couldn’t kick over a jamtin, you guys”

“If Josh Schache leapt that column of buses at Crown you probably make at least one more finals series”

Is there a roster somewhere for these blow ins with no idea?

They seems to come in regularly, get schooled and then sulk off.

It'd be nice if they just checked all the answers from the last blow in but they never do, so at least we could be prepared.

Imagine thinking we are never critical of our own players.

And imagine not realising that there is only one player left from pre-Ken and that both Ken and the club have boasted that he has reshaped this list several times over with 2 constants. Ken and the results.

If I had a dollar for every time in the last decade, where we've dominated a game, finishing with 25+ inside 50's more than the opposition, but finished behind on the scoreboard, I reckon I'd be a rich man. I'm regularly jealous of teams with a far simpler, more efficient forward set up - meanwhile every score we generate is such hard work.

Right.

So Kenny gets all the credit when Port win (by the skin of their teeth, when it was literally a majestic feat by an individual that secured the chocolates), but the endless titanic catastrophes while red hot favourites at home can’t be chalked up to him after eleven years of oddly similar outcomes?

Is that your line of logic?
No, my point was that people give far too much credit (and criticism) to AFL coaches for the stuff their players do.
But I think their influence is probably more accurately measured by the W/L record in tight games.

i.e. Lose a game by 10 goals or win a game by 10 goals, obviously the coach still has plenty of input into these games, but I don't really think they effect the result one way or another.

I think you notice the difference more in how players/teams are coached when it's a close game. That's when good habits and good training comes to the fore and effects the result in a tight last quarter.

That collective inside-50 stat against West Coast in 2017.

Imagine racking up a +64 inside50 count over 3 games, and losing two of them. Both at home.

No you wouldn't lol

Why is Will Day suddenly playing like he’s stricken with one of those African tapeworms?

How come Mitch Lewis’ goalkicking accuracy has dipped by 9%?

How come Daniel Howe has returned and why is he getting games over Josh Weddle?

I feel like there is always a great sidegame with these guys to see how many "bloody well said"s they get hit with before they realise
Usually the foreign defenders interact with those sort of posts but this one hasn't, which to me says they're just trolling.

It’s hard to say.

90% of it reads like Whateley/Rucci/Kornes’ eternal ‘Kenny The Tortured Genius™’ shtick, but saying he’d replace Sam Mitchell with him is either an egregious giveaway or we’ve got another Flint, Michigan-style water crisis in the works.

But that's all on the players, right - it's got nothing to do with the coach 🥴.

yeah it happens once , twice three times maybe four it's the players, when it happens basically every time in important games (,not talking about random after the siren wins) with a list (or lists) that has been completely turned over maybe just maybe it's daddy and preparation.

We get it mate you are either related or have some sort of axe. If so out yourself if not go away you have had your say and you are adding nothing.

This is not a second or third year coach that has been unlucky and is unfairly criticised this is over a decade.

We have had the same game plan for nine years. No real change.

Immaterial whether he can or can't kick it for them. It's his arse on the line.

Ultimately when a sporting club does not have success or a business does not succeed who carries the can.

Players don't execute ultimately who wears it.

The coach. It's what he gets paid for.

He has had over ten years half of those not making finals.

Games record without a gf.

He loses a pf by 70 odd points wouldn't change a thing (his words)

Out in straight sets this year has not said a word in public. Not one thing.

We criticise the players, we criticise the chairman and the ceo. We criticise the fitness staff, we criticise the marketing.

This club has so many issues and is so far from where it could and should be.

No one at this club takes any sort of responsibility for lack of success.

I know let's have some discussion and make a change at board level...

The parallel universe of 2010 in which Port fans have the 2002/2003/2004/2007 flags under their belts, and are descending on the Hawthorn board to victim blame them for being sick of eleven years of Peter Schwab.

“You almost merged as junior partner with Melbourne in 1996!”

“If Trent Croad’s shot goes in he would’ve got you into a Grand Final in just his second year!”

We’d get verbally obliterated by the likes of Brown&Gold888991 and RichieVanDelicious and rightly so.
I want to live in that universe 😭😭😭😭
