Certified Legendary Thread Sack Hinkley 12 - Finals Are Scary

The young team stuff is basically nonsense and just the line every team in the AFL runs with instead of just admitting they aren't good enough.

Who from our prelim team is going to improve significantly in the next few years?

Horne-Francis most certainly. He'll go from a top 30 player in the league to top 10.

Georgiades will improve but his big steps were taken this year. I see him going from a 40 goal a year player to a 50 goal a year player.

Burgoyne and Evans should improve but it's hard to say how much.

Sinn may or may not become a good player for us, that's unknowable at this point.

Everyone else from that team is basically at or very near their best already. What we actually need is players like Rozee, Butters, Bergman and others to perform in finals the same way they perform in H&A games. Then we might actually be able to do something for once.
Good call

I’ve got one question that probably can’t be answered. Are these people in decision making positions wanting him out one of Koch or Richardson? Because if neither of those want him out then it’s going to take some sort of almighty shit hits the fan moment for a sacking. If Ken is sacked those two are gonna be the face of a sacking I would think and are gonna face some serious media scrutiny.

Sorry mate, I can't answer that.

So we have a guy who obtains information freely from the inner sanctum which he shares continuously here and if as we’re led to believe, the club is constantly checking in on these threads and he’s still receiving information.

wtf

If you look at what I post, it is very ambiguous, cannot be isolated to one person and does not in any way put our Club at a competitive disadvantage. I don't even post 10% of the information shared with me.

Is Tredders still on holidays does anyone know? Would like to flick him a brief dm of my thoughts on the issue now we seem to be at a precipice, if he's still on holidays think I'll leave it.

I gather he doesn't need convincing anyway

Just getting desperate, think deep down I know Ken will be here doing finger waggles next year.

Yes Tredders is on holidays for the next little while, apparently.

I would suggest you direct your angst to Rob Snowdon, as we all know what Tredders' opinion of Hinkley was prior to becoming a Director on the Board.

Maybe either
1, Chewy doesn't go by Chewy in real life... so they don't know who s/he is.
Or
2. Chewy is a bullshit artist that has conned everyone on here... he is Hinkley himself just stirring the pot... in fact I believe Hinkleys first ever greyhound was called Chewmiester.

The Port Adelaide supporter base have suffered way too much from this bald headed country bumpkin hick for me to be such a sociopath to put you all through any more unnecessary torture.

1. I thought we all went by our RL names on here? Wow I'm embarrassed now 😳

2. Chewy shows to much intelligence to be Hinkley.

I think anyone who has finished primary school has shown to have more intelligence than our Kenneth.

Sounds like the coaching review didn’t go well.

Ken usually bunkers down after the routine finals shellacking to avoid scrutiny, only bobbing up in the preseason. But now he’s doing interviews to try to sell himself.

And he’s doing it really badly. I’d be concerned if he said something like: “I’ve been reflecting constantly about what happened in the finals, and the fact that we don’t have Dixon next year, and we’re going to change a few things that might surprise you.”

But what he said was that he’s just going to do what he’s always done - be persistent, fight, keep showing up, give it my energy. The only sales pitch he can muster is that he’s going to be the same old Ken.

He’s never reacted in such a way to a coaching review before. Seems like something’s changed, but he doesn’t get it. He thinks that the “same old Ken” schtik is going to work again.

I disagree with this.

The entire forward line improves out of sight without Hinkley. Georgiades in a good side with a proper forward system is a Coleman contender.

How many players apart from say, Chad Wingard, are playing their best football sub 24? There is always scope for raising footy IQ with experience, and there's a reason why premiership sides are generally among the older teams in the league.

Sweet can absolutely improve his chemistry with the other mids and improve his around the ground game. All 3 of the big 3 can get better and more consistent. Bergman, Jones and Burgoyne are all very young.

We also don't need to improve significantly across the board. A 5% lift and consistent mental application is enormous, the difference between close games and thrashings. Footy is incredibly punishing if you're 5% worse than your opponent.
I agree with both posts & that makes no sense. Lol

The problem I have with this is supposedly the club, and I’m assuming not one person or a couple of people but the club constantly monitors BF. So they must all be aware that Chewy is posting here. And it doesn’t sound like anyone has been censured to stop giving him/her info so is it then reasonable to assume that the whole club is ok with this?

The club isn't a monolith, especially at the moment. We have different people at the club with different agendas. The Hinkley camp would hate that someone is posting on a busy discussion forum about how there are forces inside the club trying to move Hinkley on. But clearly not every is on the same page.

Anyone got a title for episode 13 yet?
It can't not be "Let me have another crack at this". Such a hilarious ****ing cliche amongst the million others he brought up.

I know we cant trust the club but Ken wont get any extension next year no matter what the board is split right down the middle regarding Ken. The side that still wants him for 2025 looks like getting their way but thats were it will end.
Carr will be coach round 1 2026 unless we fall off a cliff and half way through next year then the good side of the board will get their way and ken gets booted then and Carr takes over then.
This 50-50 stuff just sounds like crap to me.

It wouldn't surprise me if that club signs off on the questions that are going to be asked beforehand, and no-go zones are agreed on.

Ken is way too insecure to go into a thing like this wide open and vulnerable to...you know...perfectly legitimate and valid questions regarding his performance.
Definitely. He'd demand the questions at least the day before so he can prepare. Probably gets someone to help him too. Such a loser is our Special K.

Why are these insiders sharing all this info of what you’re only posting 10%?

Is that a normal thing or

I’d have thought keeping a tight ship would show integrity.

Maybe I’m just naive

You don't have to explain yourself matey. Most of us seem to get it. I self-edited out some adjectives and derogatory phrases before posting this. :thumbsu:

I'd love to watch Donuts on 'The Chase'. Or maybe 'Mastermind', where he could have a specialist topic, perhaps "Coaching cliches of the 21st century". That would give him the best chance to score at least one point on the night. He might be useless, but hey, you know he'd turn up. But only when paid. SACK HINKLEY!

Hopefully those in meaningful positions at the club can see that a 4-time prelim-losing coach whose level of reflection and analysis seems only to extend to: "we just need to keep turning up for another crack" - JUST. ****ING. NEEDS. TO. GO.

The Power rebuilt under Ken Hinkley and fell one goal short of defeating Hawthorn in a 2014 preliminary final but have since stalled.

“Hopefully I’m around to see some sort of finals footy and hopefully a premiership in the near future,” Westhoff said yesterday.

Meanwhile, Westhoff said fellow forward John Butcher had a point to prove in the final four rounds of the 2016 season.

“(Coach Ken Hinkley) has given him the chance to prove himself.

2 August 2016.

I'm fully expecting Ken to use it as a chance to try and get ahead of any potential discussions around his sacking and put his stake in the ground about staying and declare he is the right man for the job.

Essentially letting them know that if they sack him he will make it difficult and he will demand a full pay out.
Imo he wouldn't be on 5AA if there was any chance he's being sacked. The club wouldn't sanction it.
