Beyond that, it’s the casual disrespect to the club itself, and the city as a perfectly suitable location for young professional athletes (and prospective coaches) from elsewhere, that blows me away.

Guys like Ollie Wines, Dan Houston, Zak Butters and Miles Bergman should be thanking their lucky stars they came to Port Adelaide — just like John Abley, Tim Evans, Gary Tredrea, Russell Johnston, Paul Rizonico, Dom Cassisi, Josh Carr, Alastair Clarkson, Robbie Gray, Travis Boak and Michael Voss before them.

I’m not sure where this belief crept in that Ken Hinkley, of all people, is the keystone to the club attracting/retaining everyone not born on the Lefevre Peninsula.

And the fact this belief actually exists amongst key figures at the club is astonishing, to be honest.

Remember kids, you’re not allowed to say a cross word against the great Ken Hinkley, but you can denigrate and minimise and sh¡t on the actual club all you want.

In fact, it’s encouraged.

The fact that our CEO believes that we have numerous players on our list that only play for Kenny™ and will request trades when Hinkley finally leaves is quite damning of the culture at the club. Players aren't committed to the club and club management knows this yet fails to address it. The cult of Kenny™ is the major influence at the PAFC and this is something senior management and our board have allowed and in many ways fostered.

We won't be successful as measured by "we exist to win premierships" until Hinkley and his enablers are all gone from our club. Even then it may take years for the stench to disappear.

And merely making finals is a pass mark - that really grinds my gears. In the first 140 years of our existence, if anyone had dared to suggest anything so preposterous, they would have been laughed at mercilessly. Now it's accepted practice, which just shows how far our standards as a club have fallen!!!

The whole place is rotten and so far removed from the PAFC we grew up with.

We have to fight fire with fire, we can email and revoke memberships, they're understandable steps, but instigating true change begins at gaining our board back and putting the club back in the hands of the members.

Richo wants to windmill about membership numbers and revenue, well then that's great, and as a result I can't think of any reason why the club shouldn't be focusing on returning to a full member elect board. I think this needs to be concerted campaign amongst aggrieved members and fans.

Almost guarantee that is something they would genuinely fear. It's not a quick fix, but it's building a proper foundation to return the club to what it should be.

And we are not the minority like they would have us believe, ultimately Tredders was an anti status quo candidate, and he got up.

When I raised concerns at the end of last year I was told we were around the mark after finishing top four. I guess the 2023 Finals series was excluded in the data.

It's all rubbish.

The marketing and propaganda team always push agendas which is a part of their job and one of them is to have the players talk up Kenny because he is a poor coach with poor results.

The thing is if they always have to bring up how much they love Kenny in every single interview, you know you are trying to convince others but really themselves.

The other more obvious thing is that when you look back on the way that players are asked and give their answers, they are usually very cold and unemotional about Kenny. They say the right thing but their body language and general emotion is very staged and not genuine at all.

After being the guy who has their career is his hands, they don't think much about him at all.

Exactly. I think after the dust has settled on the Houston saga that people are coming around to the idea that losing a guy like that who isn't fully committed to the cause is no loss. There will always be young and talented players hungry for an opportunity - see Logan Evans this year. These are the players who will lead you to success, not players who are conditional depending on coach, salary, what their partner wants, etc. If you don't want to play for the club then all the best and off you go.
