It's a mindset thing. The mindset of the modern footballer/ millennials is "me first". If they are safe and secure with people blowing smoke up their arse on a regular basis, that seems enough for them. It's miles away from the mindset of Port players in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

What you interpret as a "me first" attitude, is a refusal to swallow bullshit from people they don't respect, and corporations which don't have their best interests at heart. Wingard's "attitude issues" are viewed as a personality defect, rather than a reflection of and reaction to the system he's in.

If you genuinely hold these views you're as out of touch as our club leadership appear to be.
