Unless Hinkley is a complete sociopath it’s my opinion he wants out and is currently angling for the biggest payout possible.

No sane person would want to stay in a job and an environment as toxic as it’s now become. It’s unhealthy.
Don't confuse extreme stupidity for a mental illness.

Reason Ken hasn't been sacked yet?

He's on a contract for two more years that isn't going to be broken until hopefully the end of 2019 at least. The board denied breaking the contract and sacking him before the end of the season. Not to mention the player constantly talking about how much they like him.

I know you meant players, but it's really only Wines...you know, the guy that was made co-captain by Ken when he didn't deserve it.

Don't confuse what you hear in public with what players say in private. If Hinkley was sacked today, the players will be over it by their next training session. This is a playing group absolutely crying out for strong leadership and an effective game plan.

I'm just going nuclear on these fu** wits on various Facebook groups that keep saying

"You're not a real supporter, go support the tingles"

"You've just got to stay positive"

"Why don't you go and coach/play"

"We've got a young list and we're re building"

"We've been unlucky and we'd be in the top 4 if we kicked straight"

"We've had a lot of injuries"

ps. Donna Hinkley needs to be added to the poll

i hope they choke on their Stroodle in the Audi Club and the Advertiser subscriptions pile up on the lawn

P.S. Not Really

There are hardcore hives around the place who are 100% all-in on the youth/injuries/tough competition/Richmond/Ken kool-aid.

It is seriously astonishing.

It is astonishing that anyone would be stupid enough to use Richmond as an example.

Richmond took advantage of our Choco/Hardwick sliding doors moment, to begin repairs after their Terry Wallet "Ken-like" half decade of consistent mediocrity.

The whole bloody point is that Hardwick took a long time to get the smell of Wallet out of the place, while coming up to speed himself and personally owning mistakes made along the way. Ken's trajectory has been the exact opposite, arriving with one set of ideas and after an initial bounce struggling to make things work the way he wants them to, all the while refusing to take personal responsibility for missteps.

---

On a separate note, to everyone: can we please leave Donna Hinkley out of all this?

You, I, most people here know that most of these people were nowhere to be seen up until 2014.

“Real supporters” pls.

And from a list perspective, they cleaned out deadwood and old guys like Vickery, Chaplin and Deledio while replacing them with Caddy, Prestia and Nankervis — supplementing their prime core of Martin, Cotchin, Riewoldt and Rance.

Port got rid of a pair of 25yos in Polec and Wingard, brought in a pair of declining players on big money in Rockliff and Motlop, and our core of Boak, Gray, Westhoff and Ebert are now 500 years old.

But nah, Peggy O’Neal didn’t fire Dimma so we will win a flag if we just watch the years roll by.

Their mentality is literally, “be patient you ungrateful little sh¡ts, dinner’s in the oven, and it’ll be ready when it’s ready!”.

A premiership under Hinkley is inevitable. It might take 10 years. It might take 30. But it will happen. It just will.

If these idiots have their way the club will be dead inside a decade.

We all need to make sacrifices. KT and CD in a phone hook up with Kochie discussing how to fund the payout.

Blighty is “a bit miffed” by all the speculation around Hinkley’s future.

Didn’t see that coming.....

When even some of our fans talk like the list consisted of Nathan Lonie, Steve Brosnan and Jaxon Crabb before Hinkley arrived and furnished us with a team, what hope do dispassionate outsiders have.

I've actually seen them blaming millennials and social media for Ports downfall.

It looks like we will need the voice some past players. The club don't take us seriously.

Tredrea seems to be the only past player making any noise, Wakelin has voiced an opinion on radio but we need these people that have played for the club to stand up, be strong and say what you feel, after all you are the people that wore the jumper.
As mere members and supporters, there is not much we can do but vote with our wallets and feet but that ultimately will hurt the club.

Can we get a link to what Wakelin said, or someone post what he said..
