Most talented player behind Robbie, stagnated under a shit coach. If he was so lazy why did the club never address it ?

Wanted to stay but was burned by the club who never came to the table until he got the monster deal north offered.

Being told to look else where doesn’t make you a mercenary, now if we was so “Lazy” why did get made captain earlier in the year ?

Never given an opportunity and outperformed Marshall comfortably at SANFL and despite Dixon’s injury was still not given an opportunity.

Spot on with Pittard, clearly had a licence to take it on in the early days and stagnated under a crap coach like so many others.

Again agreed, Average player but undoubtedly who gave his all and had the right attitude just lacked a bit of ability.
Agree

A good coach and excellent, winning club culture would be able to overcome all of those alleged issues. And there's always a place for modestly talented hard workers in a squad

And yet, he's exactly the same player under Clarkson. Not even a bit better, not AA quality like he has been, exactly the same. His game against Fremantle this season? Nothing that 2018 Wingard didn't produce. If Wingard was going to do anything to prove people wrong, it was going to be last year when Mitchell wasn't around to take any midfield minutes away from him.

Got the deal that he asked for originally halfway through the year, which is more than enough time to negotiate with a player who was notorious for only playing well in contract years. If he wanted to stay, that would have been enough. But he proved it was always about money by taking the North deal. Also has a gold-digger wife from Victoria who always wanted to go back home. Wore North Melbourne socks on his wedding day, which proves his loyalty can be bought by the highest bidder.

Someone stated that Howard was made captain on a coin toss. Maybe he was given the responsibility to try and get him to engage with the style of play we wanted. But instead, he wanted to play his way and didn't want to learn how to be proactive in defence.

He's rubbish. Wylie Buzza will be an adequate replacement for him. Actually, Buzza will be better, because I can bet you that he won't be caught behind defenders all the time like Frampton was against Hawthorn.

No, he stagnated because our shit fans got on his back for every single mistake he made, instead of encouraging him to be better. Which pushed him into his shell and eroded his confidence. He's even mentioned it in interviews that going to North was the best thing for him because of the shit fans would give him at Port.

Again agreed, Average player but undoubtedly who gave his all and had the right attitude just lacked a bit of ability.

Not sure he had the right attitude, because he obviously rated himself and yet couldn't kick the goals needed to drive the team into finals. A team with Sam Gray in it isn't a contender...Gray was made a rookie at the end of 2014.

Zac Butters on tv news yesterday stating he hopes Port can get into finals next season (not to challenge for a flag mind you, nor anything that may require effort and increased standards at training, because.....Ken's a good guy yada yada), saying it would trigger an extension to KH's contract, and that's what the players all want and would also be what supporters want to see.

JFC! Zac my son. What a ****ing idiotic misconception to peddle.

I detest what DK and KH have done to the club - it's why we are in the mess we are currently in.

But if we go really deep into September 2020 (and I mean Prelim final), then you would probably accept another year. But the only way that could conceivably occur is if Ken completely changes his mindset on game plan, selection, etc and starts coaching like someone who actually knows what it takes to win.

We await the season ahead with interest to see what he does. If he remains stubborn and won't change, I can't see it happening, and he will most likely be gone.

Yeah I saw that but did think to myself what else is a kid in his first year who's coach backed him in all season going to say?

I think people are stressing too much re. Ken.Yes he should of gone 2 years ago. But 2020 is it. He makes finals he survives he doesn't he goes. Even if he plays finals next year as I see it he should still need to improve again in 2021 to get a contract in 2022 and beyond.
He would still have the backing of the playing group especially the young ones which is a tick for him I guess. But in the end it's his next 22 games as coach which will seal his fate

lol - would laugh if this came true and when Ken's asked if he's going to fulfil his contract extension, he answers "Yes. Butters made me do it."

Hinkley spends 5 years trying to assemble an IKEA bookcase with a Phillips-head screwdriver, ignoring the Allen key in the box, and we’re sat here copping it for asking for someone else to take over while hearing about how it’s all the screws’ fault.

And after 5 years he still didn't know what to do with a Billy.

The bull shit that has come from the mouth of an amatuer.

I you wanna beat Port Adelaide, be prepared to run all day.

I want to build a team that not only makes finals but can be a finals contender on a regular basis.

We have a long way to go to be like Richmond.

We Once were a destination club, now players want out, or get pushed out, Hinkley is no coach and the sooner the club see this and sack him the better.

Now a little time has past, I revisited my mail inbox to read the infamous email Kt sent us all, just to see if I read it any differently from my initial take on it. So when I edited out all of the bullshit, like it's not Ken's fault and feeling like he sorta implied that the supporters where some what ungrateful little shits, this is what I got.

Dear Member and Supporters,

1) Each time a concern or frustration is raised and seemingly ignored.

2) The rumbling from our core has rolled steadily through the disappointments of failed campaigns in 2015/16, to the moment West Coast broke our collective hearts in overtime in 2017, before spilling over following our inability to capitalise on the powerful start to the 2018 season.

3) The anger and frustration has been broadly and colourfully distributed but appears now squarely focused on the Senior Coach and the Norwood flog who employed him!!

4) Back in 2014, the Port Adelaide Football Club was lauded. We were operating in this glorious sweet spot where our on field performances were mirroring the values our community expected of its football Club.

5) The point is, we don’t feel like that today.

6) Somewhere along the road to greater growth and prosperity…I’ve allowed us to drop the ball. And we’ve got to fix it.

7) It’s about putting our members back at the heart of our Club. To talk less and listen more.

So stay tuned.
Let’s get it done.
See you at the footy!
KT

So if KT believes any of what he wrote in that email, 2020 will be a better year. Sack Hinkley.
