Any discussions about our list are irrelevant. It's the style we play, the inconsistency and the astonishing mental fragility of the group under Hinkley, as displayed time and again for over half a decade that makes the overwhelming majority of genuine fans of this footy club want Hinkley gone.

Any journalist pundit who cannot see the validity of this sentiment either spends no time watching Port Adelaide or has a vested interest and can fu** right off.

Glad yourve got such a high opinion of your own opinion that highly qualified people who would differ are dismissed with such vulgarity

"Whether we make finals or not...I'm not sure if it's a pass or not" -Boak

fu** me. We are ruthless

I think some here may be reading that too literally.

Travis is not in a position to flat out contradict Kochie.

Maybe what he meant was “it always feels like #%^* to watch someone else win the flag” but didn’t want to do so directly, to avoid inflaming the current ... fires under our off senior field staff.

That's funny, because Richo was coaching St Kilda in 2014. You can't even post the right bulls**t.

He's right. It was a great move by Richo and Ken.

St Kilda has been one of the few matchups we can mark up as a win each year, every year. Definitely a positive partnership for Ken.

I miss Janus.
He actually made sense sometimes, just that Ken let him down.

More like that even with complete player buy in like he stressed, it's still not a game style fit to win a flag, like Choco 2001 - 2003, and that's what Janus wouldn't see.

If I had a crystal ball that showed me Ken Hinkley and Patrick Cripps lifting the premiership trophy aloft on the last Saturday in September next year, I'd be absolutely over the moon because it means that he's gone.

Maybe Ken Hinkley, on moving clubs, will reassess his priorities and reignite his passion for winning, but it's not happening here.

The beauty of Hinkley going to Carlton would be that other, better coaches have already developed Curnow, McKay, McGovern and Casboult for him.

I do wonder what happens to Hinkley if Schulz doesn't turn it around at Port and is delisted prior to Hinkley's arrival. I'm assuming a large free agency offer to Lachie Hansen or something similar.

Port Adelaide’s ‘significant’ drop in members could impact on the field, club say

A “significant” drop in Port Adelaide members will hurt the club where it matters the most — on the field — says Power executive general manager Matthew Richardson.

Figures released by the AFL have revealed that Port Adelaide and the Adelaide Crows were among only four clubs in the competition to record a drop in members from 2018 to this year.

The Crows had a 0.5 per cent drop from 64,739 to 64,437 to sit seventh in the AFL, but the Power had the third largest decrease in members across the league — a 4.5 per cent drop of 2435 from 54,386 to 51,951.

Port Adelaide’s executive general manager Matthew Richardson told The Advertiser as much as the drop was a concern it was not a surprise to those at the club.

But he said if this wasn’t addressed quickly, it could have far-reaching impacts at Alberton.

“While it’s been a concern, it’s not a surprise. We conduct regular research and monitor all the platforms in which our members and supporters engage with the club directly and indirectly and the indicators were pointing to a drop off in membership,” he said.

“The drop-off in members is significant and it hurts. The reality is that if we don’t turn it around it will impact on our ability to invest in our core business — football.

“We are probably more reliant than most AFL clubs on support from our members, and it is critical we get back to basics when it comes to ensuring our members are engaged and believe in what Port Adelaide has stood for since 1870.”

Richardson said Port would put its members “at the very centre of our thinking moving forward” — echoing what Power chief executive Keith Thomas said in a statement to the club faithful last week — especially with the club’s 150th year coming up.

“We have plans in place for 2020 which will ensure we are focused on providing our members with better value, some milestone moments that our members will be at the heart of and some other major changes to the club in how we look and present ourselves,” he said.

I like how the club is resorting to thinly veiled "dont be a member and it will hurt our budgets and we will suck ass" threats.

Good thing we have so many members and we still stuck ass. You cant ****ing guilt trip me, campaigners.

I'll remain a member but it sure as hell isn't so I can keep funding the positions of dipshits.

The only "value" I really want from my membership is having a team that can actually football good.

You mean you aren't excited by the prospect of an indigenous hostel at Alberton and would much rather time and effort be spent on football?

My word, you just don't understand we are here to make our community proudery.

I know this is the wrong thread but are we getting any funding for that? Or is it purely based off of club funds?

A “significant” drop in Port Adelaide members will hurt the club where it matters the most — on the field — says Power executive general manager Matthew Richardson.

I hope those milestone moments involve winning games of football.

How it should have read...

"A “significant” drop in Port Adelaide members will hurt the club where it matters the most — on the field — and we only have ourselves to blame" says Power executive general manager Matthew Richardson.

Carlton still owe us for Bradley so only fair they "poach" Kenny away from us.

Personally would feel sorry for Teague and reckon Carlton would be better off signing up Teague but taking Kenny on as coaching director or something similar.
