Ive been on the sack ken train since 2018.

So serious question. What would it take to change your mind on Ken?

What scenario would be needed for you to be happy for him to stay on in 2021?

Finals?
Finals win?
top 4?
prelim?
the big GF?

Even if we got in a better coaching group for 2020, I cant see us achieving anything more than a finals appearance.

GF win only for me.
Too many gut wrenching losses and embarrassing failures that only a GF win would help to ease.

3 GFs on the trot may help to extinguish the disappointment raging in my bones, but I cant be certain that even that would

I love our new crop of young players but it should concern everyone that we had to trade out guys like Impey and Wingard in the first place. Now there's talk about Wines and SPP. Rather than throwing more young talent on the fire, should the very serious question be asked of why our young players are stagnating and not reaching their potential? If it was one, maybe two players you could rightly place 100% of the blame on the individual, but we seem to struggle with our young guys hitting a "stall". To me, this is one of the more concerning issues we've had under Hinkley. We've been able to attract and draft players but they've not reached anywhere near their potential.

This and skills has always been the problem.
Once apon a time....
...... I thought that Ken showed us with Pittard that he can bring out the best in players and we should shut up and let him do his job.....
....Nek Minit.....
At least he made Ebo and Jakey play taller😊

Impey we really had no choice, was family reasons.
All clubs trade out good and sometimes gun players.
That is the footy environment now.

Yeah, but that rarely comes with messaging from a club that all but drives the outgoing player’s price down (Wingard) and spinning an outright lie that the goal is to make the team younger.

The current list profile is diabolical.

Bring in three pricey veterans one year, hit the skids from 11-4, scapegoat your monotonous failings by trading out your two best 25yo’s and HiT tHe DrAft as if the previous 6 years didn’t happen and you’re not carrying a dozen guys who are about to get a telegram from the Brian May Band.

Port Adelaide everyone.

Port Adelaide.

That’s the thing

The club’s propaganda is that we moved on “three big name players” to accomodate “youth”

We moved on two players who are currently in the prime age of 26 and one who is 28

It’s not as if we pushed out three 30 year olds

Remember when we beat Collingwood in EF in 2013? We're we now??

That’s right our trajectory is good KT stated 🙄

Rucci banging on about Hinkley inheriting a basket case at the end of 2012:

14. Port Adelaide, 5-1-16
15. Western Bulldogs, 5-0-17

🤷🏼‍♀️

2008-2012: Five years without a finals win
2015-2019: Five years without a finals win

I heard Impey was disappointed with the lack of support he received from the club after his father passed

Edit: obviously don’t take this as gospel, but it would make sense why he was keen to leave with Trengrove who did provide the support

That is rubbish. The players even did a fundraiser for him.
He was close to Jacko yes and godfather to his daughter Sofia but it is wrong to blame the club for not supporting him.

The Western Bulldogs had made three preliminary finals appearances in a row from 2008 to 2010. We hadn't even made a final since 2007. Are you trying to suggest that they were somehow a basketcase like us in 2012 because they tanked to ensure they could select Stringer and Macrae?

Bold are Western Bulldogs best 22 players this week. Bold italics are Port Adelaide best 22 players next year.

At the end of 2012, the Dogs drafted Stringer, Macrae, Hunter (F/S). They turned Stringer into Schache in 2017.

We drafted Wines, Clurey and Shaw to a club that hadn't made finals since 2007.

They supplemented that in 2013 with Bontempelli who is a superstar.

We supplemented our picks with Polec, Impey, Amon and Byrne-Jones.

The Bulldogs gave up their first pick and Griffen for the previous year's number one pick in Tom Boyd, and still drafted Cordy, McLean and Dale.

We gave up our first and second picks and got a 25 year old Patrick Ryder, and drafted Howard and Frampton.

The Bulldogs scored Dunkley, Adams and Williams in the 2015 draft. They traded Adams to Brisbane last year for Pick 32.

We traded out our first and future second for Dixon and added Bonner and Johnson.

2016 draft, the Dogs selected English, Lipinski and Young.

We selected Marshall, Powell-Pepper, Drew and Atley. We also get Ladhams in the rookie draft.

2017 draft, the Dogs select Naughton and Richards.

We select Hayes, Patmore, Garner and Farrell.

2018 draft, Dogs select Smith and West.

We select Rozee, Butters and Duursma.

So...since 2012, the Dogs have drafted 13 players that are best 22 to our 13. The only difference is that they lucked into being on the rise as Hawthorn was fading instead of at their peak like us.

Do they get a medal for this or something? Does it mean that they will be dominant for an extended period of time? I'm sure we were thinking the same thing back in 2013.

When players are ready to step up, they will replace the incumbents. I don't care about age. I care about whether a player can do their job.

No, it means we’ve missed our window, and for that the coach must be sacked. Pretty simple, really.

Are we sacking anybody? The club seems very comfortable with the way the year went. I'd really like to sack chad corner. I don't know if he is a decent assistant coach, but the culture of the club won't improve whilst Chad is there to leak stories for the benefit of his family rather than the club. Besides Henschell was a forward so why isn't he a forward assistant? Surely we can afford to sack Chad? Runners aren't even allowed to run anymore.

Everyone in a senior leadership role at Alberton: "Finals is the minimum pass mark."

Post-season wash up: "Let's trade SPP and commission new scarves."

I laughed until I cried.

I'm a bit surprised Impey and Dixon weren't closer given they both love old Holdens.

No such thing as premiership windows.
