Ken had a pretty good year. He was visibly shattered after the game and in the presser. It wasn't his fault that the midfield - who have been so great for us - got comprehensively smashed in the second half.

By all means, assess his whole tenure for what it is, but let's not overreact to being beaten by a better team tonight.

Everything fell his way this year. One of a tiny handful of clubs able to take advantage of a genuine home ground advantage, and a healthy list a lot of the time Had some decent wins along the way, a heap of scrappy wins, a couple of bad losses, but we were really kissed on the dick this season in so many ways.
The realization that he will get a contract extension is so deflating, because he simply isn't good enough to take us to a grand final, let alone win one. It's also depressing that apparently a heap of the younger players are buying the snake oil he's selling.
This is Ken Hinkley's ceiling, and it's a ceiling he can only attain when EVERYTHING goes his way. ****, i dunno, it's just so demoralizing.

Because we kept getting absolutely spanked at centre bounces so every score launch attempt had to come from half back against a set defence.

That said, if he didn't ruin Butcher's career we would have had a dashing big man up forward holding those crucial marks for us. Sack Hinkley.
