I'm not necessarily down with the Sack Hinkley thing. But what exactly is his role at the club? Is it mainly training? Is it game day at all? If any part of his role is game day, I've never seen him make any tactical decisions that resulted in a major influence on a game. Like... ever. So what makes him good? Is head coach the right role? Sometimes when i hear other coaches talk about coaching and commenting on supporter unrest, they dismiss it as though fans don't know anything about coaching. Well, tell us then! What are we missing? Did Ken give the players a rocket before the game or use some other method to get them in the right frame of mind? If the argument is the players are professional and shouldn't need this, I'm sorry, clearly they do. Ultimately the proof is in the pudding and you'll live and die by the score card. Either stop feeding the fans bullshit about who is actually responsible (players not following game plan, poor skills etc.) or own it.
