Boomers love ken
The boomers that have lived through some of the best years this club has seen that continue to back Hinkley to the hilt absolutely do my head in. I can't think of anything that frustrates me more.

It makes me embarrassed to be a Boomer.

Brave eagle and against everything are neck to neck at the 98 mark. The doorman is dropping off the pace and trailing 5 lengths behind in the also rans Punters who have heavily backed the doorman, are irate at the geldings drop to mediocrity and calling for the horse knackery or to use the whip more vigorously.

They’re still proudly wearing their Yes we Ken T-shirts and are happy with the predictability of 10th place

My biggest fear is that we limp into 7th or 8th spot despite Ken, triggering his one year extension (if that clause is in his contract).

There’s a chance that could happen given the talent in our list. His incompetence may not be enough to prevent a top 8 finish.

But I am expecting his incompetence to prevail

The same Boomers who took to the streets in the 60s and 70s fighting for social change and protesting war, elected a decades worth of Labor government, then decided that was enough of that and spent the last 30 years doing their best to maintain the status quo and cease progression, whilst promising 'just bomb the bastards' as the solution in the middle east?

Those boomers? The ones that sent Russel Ebert packing but staunchly defend Ken's tenure? It wouldn't be out of character.

There's a thread on the main board now that will continually get bumped throughout the season.

About time the rest of the footy community started waking up to what an ordinary coach he is.

Too late for some, unfortunately Ken has dragged down the reputation of his players with him to the rest of the community. Robbie Gray should be an easy top 10 player of the decade but given our averageness he'll be lucky to get a spot ahead of Paul Puopolo.

Its puzzling that for as long as i can remember supports screamed about tradition screamed about being ruthless screamed about a club that demanded being winners has now accepted Ken has some great guy why? we become a club base that you can't say anything or question

The club itself has ‘MEDIOCRITY DOESN’T LIVE HERE’ decals up everywhere.

Little club. Sleeping giant.

Established 1870 and 150 Years with one hand, loading up Dwayne Russell, Mike Rucci and Gerard Whateley to patronise us into accepting we’re not the Magpies who won every year at SANFL level, with the other.

It’s a fetid paradox from top to bottom in desperate need of a massive clean out.

Ken's B&F speech from 2013 was recommended on YouTube. I hadn't watched it before. A couple of things that with hindsight seem like red flags were:
  • He arrived late, only moments before his speech
  • "We got to wear the Prison Bar jumper which was one of the key things I wanted from the football club this year as much as Keith to make sure they paid me" (I get it is tongue in cheek but when he has just been waxing lyrical being a traditional club, being born to coach Port and fitting the culture it's far off-brand)
TL;DR Sack Ken

Yep me too, this is so much Hinkley's Port.

This is my fear as we have a talented list and could sneak into the 8 despite Ken but without a proper structure we would not trouble any other team in finals.
