This club is delusional, they are in the throngs of capitulation and to hear Tom Jonas say, the boys will beheading home and we are looking forward to a few days off is really pathetic. Now is not the time to take a backward step, if the club was serious they would be bunkering down right now to find a solution, not running off to weekends away. It just shows the attitude of the players and the leadership, they are either delusional or just dont care?

It's not good enough.

He should be burned. He should be attacked from everywhere. No longer should he make it out clean. Him and Koch. I won't be happy for him to get the hero sendoff you know he will.

I’m feeling your pain just like the majority

"we were playing the game we wanted to play, but dont crucify me for saying that because we werent scoring goals" This is a direct quote from Kens presser. If you play a game to flood the backline to stop the embarrassment of what will take place if you dont and then expect not to get crucified because that is how you wanted to play then you have absolutely lost the plot. The players must be banging their heads against the wall. Just remember dont judge him on 1 game, judge him on the season.

I didnt watch the presser, and im not going to trawl through quotes

Im going to assume Ken didnt say 'this is on me as head coach. I take responsibility for the situation we are in. There are no excuses for what we have served up.'

Caro still supporting Ken generally as a coach but now acknowledging his position is becoming untenable after 10 years. This is a clear shift in direction in less than 6 days.

The wheels are turning.

Hopefully the "he's lost the players" murmurs start soon. Once that happens you basically have to leave immediately.

They literally played as 'lost the players' for large chunks of that game.

I do not doubt it for a second.

That looks pretty obvious considering whats been thrown up on field

I don't understand this shit. She points out all the reason why Ken won't have a job (0-4, after 10 years it's time to go, fell short in 2020) but still hangs shit on supporters for wanting him gone.

Agree but all that’s important is that real noise is being made and it’s becoming impossible to ignore by the club

The majority of them must have been thinking, Hang on you want us to hold onto the ball to limit Melbourne's run, hit up short leading targets to deny them the ball (makes sense so far) ... then kick long to a forward line with no established key forward that has to outmark Steven May, Jake Lever, Max Gawn and Luke Jackson.

You've lost me ...

Mods can we add a poll to this thread as to what round will Ken be sacked? I'm going with round 16 after a loss to Freo in Perth.
Don't under estimate west coast in round 6, its like they are priming themselves for their first win and know how fragile port are. This would be the perfect irony since ken should have been sacked after that lost in 2017

Winless into the Norf game in Tassie. I could see that being it. The options are endless!

Reading some of the takes from 20-something fans on socials, I’ve personally underestimated how many we picked up post-Footy Park, and how the (former) reality of a ruthless, proud, successful Port Adelaide is completely foreign to them.

Do most of you sit near the southern goals or something? This seems like the realm of the Happy Clapper. Those boobs in the cheer squad and the like?

I sit in the western stand (well not once this year). Most of the people there are ex Footy Park members. That means most have been around a long time. There is no Happy Clapping going on here. People are highly critical. Theres no "go support the Tingles" stuff.

The farce that was Mitch running into goal, stuffing it up, passing it to Mayes, who stuffed it up was as good an encapsulation of where we are at the moment. There is no structure within which the players can work. They are out there being asked to play jazz without anyone setting the rhythm.

The thing you notice about the best sides is players have confidence under pressure because they know where their support is going to be, where their bailout will be if the first option fails. We have never had that. The midfield flicks it around to each other, all under pressure, until someone, anyone, gets enough space for a hack kick forward. There is no way for the forward line to prepare for that, so they are reactive. That's why their first option is to bring it to the ground, because it is assumed that every forward entry will be a contest.

The same thing is true all over the ground.

So far, we have been able to rely on the individual brilliance of Gray or Wingard or similar to save our arses. We have been able to rely on someone like Boak just working his ****ing legs off to present an option. We have been able to rely on Aliir (and before him Jonas) to work from his opponent to a contest. But that is only good enough while you have those players able to play those roles. When the individual talent isn't there, the absence of a plan is disastrous.

Incidentally, I am sure the lack of a plan is why Ken is so inactive in the box.
