Just imagine the difference in atmosphere at our first home game next year if Hardwick or Clarkson is our new coach, as opposed to starting year 11 under Hinkley. The place would be packed to the rafters with a new man in charge - with Ken it could be sub 20,000. Oh but we can't afford to sack him.......

It's all about damage control now. Bassett tonight saying we are "perfectly positioned in the short to medium term".

No mention of another wasted year though
I thought we were staying in the moment?

**** it's hard to keep up!

This year we've won 1 and lost 7 already with 3 more games against current top 8 sides.
Even still we're hearing we'll completely flip the script and win all remaining games to be a mathematical possibility to make the 8
It's delusion at the highest level. And the club wonders why there's such a disconnect between club and fans. Just be f ucking honest for once. The same shit from round 5 is still being regurgitated now when the season is done. If we still work hardery we can win 5 in a row.

Try some fresh tactics and bleed the kids, stop wasting time.

The dishonesty is the worst part. They don't even have to lie or shift the goalposts, but they constantly do.

How hard would it have been to acknowledge the disaster that the start of the season was. "We set our sights on a premiership at the start of the season and we've made things very difficult for ourselves with a catastrophic start, however we trust Ken to get the boys back on track and we think we can still win the flag this year as we've set out to do"

It's still bullshit but at least it acknowledges reality.

Anything, ANYTHING to avoid being held accountable for what they say they'll do. Charlatans who have talked their way into positions of power at our club and make sure nobody who isn't a yes man can get a look in.

Career prospects outside of football - zero.

I suppose he could go get a job as a rep selling beach muscle protein shake powders or something.
Better.

I read a thing from him once where he said if he wasn't a footballer he'd like to be a musician.

This is probably going to be really unpopular, but as an assistant he'd be told what to say and wouldn't have any choice on the topic of Hinkley.

I remember when he was SANFL coach, he wouldn't always follow the Hinkley play book because he wanted to win and wouldn't pull his punches after a loss. None of the "tough game, someone has to lose" Hinkley BS.
Yeah he was ok as magpies coach.

But as usual, across the whole club, the above and beyond approach that everyone goes to for Kenny is sickening. The players and admin and assistants are all saying way more than the basic platitudes they could get away with and it's a ****ing miracle and a disgrace their the white anting of the fans haven't seen them chased away for good. The mob are too stupid now to see that the club does not care for them or represent them and seeks to divide them.

I still often think back to Kens words last year. "Dont judge us on our home and away season, judge us after finals."

We then get fisted at home in a prelim, as pathetic and embarrassing a display as you will see when so much was in our favour. Pressed post game about it, he goes on to suggest, "it is not the right time to talk about it..." Then, he goes unsighted over summer, bounds back in and says "we are coming" dismissed the embarrassment of season prior, stating that "we must live in the now..." We then go on to be 0-5 with deplorable performances against Hawthorn and Melbourne at home as well the first half against Carlton and the capitulation v Adelaide.

So, we still have not spoken about being judged on finals last year and we didn't live in the now this year until the results went our way.

You could not make this up. This as much on Richo and the board as it is on Ken.
Perfect summary of actual events. The fact he's been allowed to get away with this BS speaks volumes about the club's professionalism. We are going nowhere until some honesty is restored at the club which means many heads need to roll.

It's beyond belief that this is even a question.

When you think about it, if a premiership coach had the sort of zombie year that we're having right now in his 10th year at a club, he'd be under serious pressure and there would be serious questions being asked. Hinkley continuing to escape all scrutiny is quite incredible.

Adam Cooney mentioned this morning that he had thought the supporter base that disliked Hinkley was about 30% but upon reading twitter replies on the SENSA page he thinks it may be closer to 50%.

I reckon we as frustrated supporters might need to pump those numbers up even more…drown out the noise of the happy clappers.
