Dude I never want our club to look like a shambles ever again.
At this stage, with a spineless board, I'm happy to take short term pain for long term gain.

No other club in the competition would have accepted and persisted through what we have. Even the Crows have shown far more gumption in sacking their coach promptly.

The 'Stability equals success' mantra weve adopted has been the single greatest fallacy in our clubs history and led us down a long dark path where we are completely and utterly stuck in a mid table rut with poor depth, no draft picks coming in, a stale coach and serious list holes everywhere.

That’s the interesting point isn’t it. If anything is going to happen - one way or another it will follow the next loss or later in the season.

Assistant coaches all saying the same thing, well scripted.

Maybe he gets to coach next year without another extensions, maybe he’d prefer to explore options.

If he could get a shiny new deal at another club I reckon he’d leave, not sure he’d get that though.

Interesting times.
I just don't see him being here next year. His position has become completely untenable. If the no finals trigger is there, as i'm increasingly lead to believe it is, then he's pretty much just packing his bags.
If he somehow jags a miracle finals berth i'm absolutely convinced there's no contract beyond 2023 and a deal to see him depart is brokered.

So what do we need to make the finals. We'd need StK and WB to only win 2/4. Then we must win all 4. Richmond must also lose this week. We must also gain significant percentage on the Dogs.

There's just no way all of that is falling into place.

We should lose this weekend and if the clause is true, our season will be over and Ken should be immediately moved on.

I guess it’s seems that way as that’s what we want. If he’s here next year and then makes finals he’s here for another two after that, can’t see that happening. If he’s here next year and we go ordinary then he might be sacked half way through the year, can’t see that happening.

Logic says they find a mutual way out of it.

Some of the comments in this thread are getting quite toxic and personal. Please try to restrict discussion to football and stay away from baseless allegations.

What was that all about?
Does nothing apply since that limp plea?
Please explain?

Look at the pic again, his nipples are clearly protruding is this an example of toxic and personal?
Your articles in The Advertiser over the years contained content far more toxic and personal than every post in this thread put together.

Now **** off back to your hole you little worm.

Lose this week and it's all over. Somehow i see Collingwood as a bit shaky though.

Maybe I am daring to dream but even that halfwit Kornes was talking him up at Norfs on that shot show on Sunday. It seems even he is coming to terms with the bromance ending
🤔 I dislike norf... I dislike hinkley 🤔 match made in heaven.

At least we know if we ran into a hinkley coached norf in a prelim we would be making the grand final 😛

Montgomery feels the heat will be "water off a duck's back" for Hinkley, and he expects the 10-year coach to still be at the helm in 2023.

"Yeah I would be shocked (if he's not here next year)," Montgomery said.

"He has a contract. It's a very good list, a good team.

Sack MOnty
We agree Monty.

It's a good list and a good team that won't be playing finals...

Tonight on 9News Adelaide. Cat saved from tree, old man yells at cloud, but to our first story, SACK HINKLEY SIGN ON PORT ROAD.
For once the media wanting to stick the boots into Port might work in our favour.

But just our luck they will pot the "ungrateful" fans rather than the club.

This is easily the best actual response I've seen. Touche. Although I don't think that negates it being a pretty shitty look.
You think the new coache is thinking "but what if the fans turn on me after 10 years at 800k"?

Even Montgomery didn't condemn the sign, just put it down to passion of the supporters.

There also seems to be a point of ensuring that even though the commentary is around Hinkley being there next year, there's no talk of anything beyond then.

Monty also went on to say that a club looking to climb the ladder would do well to consider Hinkley.
I guess so long as they are starting lower than 12th that could be true
