Cheers - I knew you’d think it was perfectly legitimate thing to do.

How is it not?
How is a non violent, non offensive protest towards a club that doesn’t listen, on a sign placed on public land not a legitimate thing to do?

What mental gymnastics are you attempting to make out that this most benign of protests to the slow destruction of the club is a step too far?

If cost is your answer, let’s start with Hinkley’s contract.
We can then end with the $25 worth of labour it cost to send someone to scrub it off.

Current 10+ season coaches:

Chris Scott
- 2 grand finals, 1 flag

John Longmire - 3 grand finals, 1 flag

Damien Hardwick - 3 grand finals, 3 flags

Ken Hinkley - 0 grand finals, 0 flags

Then let’s emphasise the point further:

Luke Beveridge - 2 grand finals, 1 flag in 8 seasons.

Adam Simpson - 2 grand finals, 1 flag in 9 seasons

When Hinkley loved more than success

We are happy for you Ollie but Ken is not employed as a social worker. His job is to produce results and the only acceptable result for this Port supporter is a Premiership.

What makes the media think the Sack Hinkley poster was the work of one person? It could just as easily been posted on behalf of a disgruntled group of supporters. I wonder if they have any more posters on hand? Maybe they should ramp it up and a flood of Sack Hinkley election style corflutes is the way to go?

we just want the club we all grew up supporting back, that's not too much to ask for. is it?
I fear the type of fans Koch/Hinkley have turned people into/brought into the club have changed it forever.

"True Believers" and that whole philosophy of never questioning or challenging the club is here to stay.

Or being outraged at the distruction of club property by placing a sticker on a sign. Oh the humanity. Outside of his Alan Patridge style man crush on Travis Boak surely that poster isn't really a proper Port supporter?

The cost to fix that sign would have been minimal and it got some media coverage with 'Sack Ken' in it. Money well spent.
Send the maintenance guy over.

Zero cost.

I have never agreed with Stephen Rowe until tonight - anyone who defaces club property without having the guts to put their name to it is a coward low life scum. I understand the sack the coach mentality from those who are over it but have the guts to show your face and front up at the club.

Members have been telling the club how they feel for half a decade and the club has cycled between not listening and actively thumbing their nose at supporters.

The time for asking nicely is over.

It required the entire sign to come down, which required a staff member which means it effectively cost the club money. Look, this is a forum and we’re all allowed to have an opinion and mine is I’m not into faceless/cowardly acts. Feel free to call me whatever you want but some of us deface public property anonymously in the dead of night while others make calls, talk to the club and happily put our names to our complaints.

Has the club actually addressed a single complaint made by a member in half a decade?

Carn.

The club have shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that we don't matter to them and they don't care how we feel or what we say. The only way to get them to do the right thing is to turn the screws by protesting or, I'd argue even worse, handing in memberships.
