How is it not?
How is a non violent, non offensive protest towards a club that doesn’t listen, on a sign placed on public land not a legitimate thing to do?

What mental gymnastics are you attempting to make out that this most benign of protests to the slow destruction of the club is a step too far?

If cost is your answer, let’s start with Hinkley’s contract.
We can then end with the $25 worth of labour it cost to send someone to scrub it off.
The sign had the desired effect - it made headlines on the evening news and on the radio. Given the fact that the club ignores normal avenues, how else can people voice their discontent?

Heard a snip of Blight talking about Hinkley, lambasting modern coaching & the Suns coaching staff (including Ken) when he was up there yet sprouting win percentage & raging at the Sack Hinkley sticker.. lol

I reckon old mate would admit 10 years without the ultimate is enough & something he'd have never lasted through as a coach himself.

Has the club actually addressed a single complaint made by a member in half a decade?

Carn.

The club have shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that we don't matter to them and they don't care how we feel or what we say. The only way to get them to do the right thing is to turn the screws by protesting or, I'd argue even worse, handing in memberships.
They haven't even addressed the sign...they took it down so the person cleaning it wouldn't be photographed doing so I'd imagine.

Of course they’ve listened. Didn’t you see the club’s acknowledgment of concerns and apology to members…about e-tickets

The cost to fix that sign would have been minimal and it got some media coverage with 'Sack Ken' in it. Money well spent.
If Ken is paid 800k a year.

That's over 2k a day.

And around $90 for every living hour.

If we sack Ken a few hours earlier it will cover the sign..

Nah Blight like Cornes lost a lot of finals (before finally getting success at adelaide).

So he talks about "winning seasons", I.e. winning more than you lose.

Friend of a friend  told me the loss this caused in game day attendance was believed to be in 4 figures.

This was swept under the Covid rug. Worse for the neighbours.

As for old mate I expect us to beat Collingwood but it won't change my mind. Hopefully it makes him more tempting for Norf the Giants or

the Camperdown Magpies.

They did tell us about the evils of Australian day, I guess that's a start, you begin with 1788 and move forward. The year 2022 should be handled sometime around 2050 when Jordan hinkley is head coach and about to sign his 3rd contract extension with a promo photo shoot in front of the statue of his dad. For those wondering Ken didn't ever win a premiership but he did save the club.

We know Ken is the longest serving single club coach in history to not make a GF, but what were the figures on multi club coaches again? I think he was 6th all time, he must be getting close to 4/5th.

Update:

He's now 3rd all time full stop behind only Stephen and Wallace.

He's also now in the top 10 for games coached without a premiership.

And beyond - Hinkley's official title at least on 9 news appears to be Under Fire Port Coach Ken Hinkley.

Exactly this. I had no idea so many Helen Lovejoys followed this club. These people wouldn't have survived 5 minutes in the outer back in the day.
I once saw someone put a steaming hot meat pie in someones face and held it there

According to the club members unhappy with Hinkley's coaching are being disrespectful meanwhile Koch calls these people who are financially supporting the club "haters" and "white noise". Imagine a guy who sees himself as a financial guru being so dismissive of his investors.

This whole thing is just absurd. It's like we're asking for the removal of a third year coach who the club believe just needs more time. The guy has been here a decade with nothing to show for it, basically an unprecedented reign of no success in the century plus history of the league.

It's beyond time to go and yet we're viewed as some kind of fringe mob of anarchists.

As a club we're the exact opposite of what we claim to be - we exist to win premierships almost less than anyone.

Further to this.

He's currently 3rd all time for most games coached at a single club without a premiership.

Neale Daniher is 4 in front of him so he'll draw level with him if he coaches out the season.

Ted Whitten is 9 in front of him so he'd need to coach next year to take out the all time record.

I love the happy clappers and opposition team supporters saying we're being hard on him because he's led us to back to back prelims. How stupid is that argument? It's literally the whole reason why the blowtorch should be on him. We ****ing made back to back prelims and choked in one of the worst prelim losses EVER then backed it up with an underwhelming (potentially) 12th place finish. How does that not deserve any scrutiny whatsoever? Team winning = ken god, team losing = players not good enough not the coach

There's an element of "you're picking on the dear old uncle who gives you lollies and pisses in his daiper all day long?" in the tone of the Hinkley defenders.

I'm sure the information is already here somewhere, but I'm not on bigfooty much these days. Does anyone have the statistics on our win/loss ratio against top 8 teams over the last 5 or so years. I think this would have to be the most difficult stat to justify if you're in Ken's corner.
