Dwayno: I'm tipping Brisbane for the flag, if they don't win it it'll be a wasted period kinda like Port Adelaide.

Thanks for waking from ya coma big fella.

I love how they all casually and clearly state what the problem is while making expanded points.

Like when Rucci ended his Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard defence of Hinkley at the conclusion of the dreadful 2019 season by predicting a 10th-placed finish for Port in 2020.

I count it was two wasted periods - the first part included the likes of Gray, Westhoff, Schulz & Ryder. To waste what he has now would be the second major failure.
As wasteful as Fage's Lions have been, he's only been around since 2017.

In this morning's press Nathan Buckley is calling for Ken Hinkley to be re appointed. Buckley's days at Alberton are long gone and he obviously has no ****ing idea about our expectations. If Nathan Buckley thinks Ken's tenure has been successful there is no way I would want him anywhere near the Port Coaching job. It is 30 years since Buckley was at Alberton and it shows- Buckley has been at Collingwood too long.

Ken has always advocated for a game style that locks the ball in our forward 50 for as long as possible, even the players parrot this nonsense during their routine pressers.

The problem with this approach is really elementary. One, forwards require space to lead into, congestion reduces space. Two, locking the ball away allows the opposition to get players back & organise. Three, it opens you up to counter-attacks where the opposition has ample space to work with.

Even the elite European football clubs have trouble scoring goals when the opposition parks the bus behind the ball. Geelong are brilliant at creating space for their forwards to lead into, while the Tigers won 3 Premierships on fast break, counter attacking football.
