Hinkley has a complete air of "whatever", I've fleeced these idiots for as long as I could, it's over now, I'll just say anything and when we do capitulate, I'll just ride off into the sunset taking subtle pot shots on the way out, mainly at the supporters and the Adelaide bubble, further endearing him to the sympathetic and sychophantic Vic media who'll maintain the Kenny good bloke hard done by did the best he could with what he had narrative. ****ing Sickening.

It’s all sickening. All of it.

You just know he's going to take thinly veiled potshots at the club and the supporters at several media opportunities post sacking, probably on AFL360 with Whateley asking him questions like "It seems like you were let down by list management and the football department at every turn, with that in mind, how unrealistic are the expectations of Port supporters?"

What does a 'strong preseason' actually mean if you dismiss the hit outs against actual opposition?

They ran fastery for longery and it was hot a few times.

What I took out of the interview was when Tim just slightly pushed Ken the tone of his voice and the defensive hackles instantly flared

He's 2 or 3 bad losses and some serious media heat away from totally cracking

In general the media have not put any pressure on Hinkley at all. Even the interview last night was pretty soft, even tough questions were done in a very general almost jovial way. Ohh the forward line is not quite clicking at 100% is it Kenny...

Last year there were a couple of occasions more probing questions were asked and one of the go to responses from Ken is "I have been in the game a long time" Which doesn't actually answer anything but it would be enough for the questioning to move in a different direction. I suspect we will get more of this in 2023 if performance is poor.

I think a lot of the pressure should be on the clown Kock who signed up Stinkers for 5 years when he should have been sacked or put on a 1 year contract at best. We need a President who is based here, and who embodies the true ruthless nature of PAFC.

Stinkers was probably shocked he got the contract and is doing his "best". And the club ACCEPTS this. That's the problem.

It doesn't matter where the club's president is based as long as they are a true Port Adelaide person.

Koch is just a morning TV show buffoon using his thin connection to the PAFC to enable him to boost his ego. It wouldn't make a difference if he moved to Adelaide and lived in Brougham Place, Alberton.

Doing your best doesn't mean your best is good enough. If that was how they judged Olympic gold medals I'd have a ship load. Hinkley has clearly demonstrated over a decade of coaching that his best is not good enough.

What does a 'strong preseason' actually mean if you dismiss the hit outs against actual opposition? He's even more delusional that normal and that's quite a feat given his track record.
It means, "I'm pretty much guaranteed the full value of my contract so don't need to justify myself to you"

I’d rather poke my eyes out than have Basset anywhere near the senior coach role. Him and Cornes need to GTFO when Hinkley finally goes!
It's funny - you know that once they inevitably leave Port, that will be the end of their coaching careers at AFL level. They won't seek jobs outside of SA and unless the Crows have gone on a sacking rampage again they're toast.

I can see Cornes whipping out "I never really liked coaching anyway"...

The media should have lit a fire under him 5 ****ing years ago.

The double-guernsey fiasco against the home town rivals to the tune of 80 points combined with losing after the siren to the same team twice in two seasons, the first being a home final, in the most embarrassing fashion should have been enough to have anyone laughed out of town, never to return.

Honestly with the way we're playing every game is a potential loss. I see this season unravelling very quickly. And this time there's no contract to save him.
Now that we’ve all heard the trumpets of denial from Ken and Bass that there is no cause for concern based on our excellent training in preseason, it’s safe to assume that every game this year is 50-50 at best with many more likely to be losses than wins.

Yep, and the whole Cornes clan can return to holding a grudge against Port and being pro-Glenelg only.

Something tells me Bucks doesn't really believe what he said about Ken...

He was playing the PC line about a club he could potentially apply for. View attachment 1624805

I do always laugh when the media goes 'oh they can't be as bad as they were last year, they'll win more games purely on talent'
'So you have them making the finals?'
'God no, don't be insane'
