So for $100,000 the club can't afford to sack him.

Hinkley was always guaranteed 2023 by Koch don't lets kid ourselves. remember back a year or so ago he came out and said if I don't make finals i wont be the coach of the PAFC next year. Well no talk like that this year, I am contracted to the PAFC and Koch has said the same.

We have been coned people, simple. It also could be that a few hundred people on BF are not enough to make them take notice, they think we sit behind our key boards and type rubbish for something to do. Obviously there are 60,000 + members that don't see it the way we do so the club has no need to change when the memberships are growing.

Yep. Realistically the fan base isn't going to agitate for change when we always win 10-12 games.

What we need is a board and administration that have ambition and want to be better than mediocre. But we don't have that unfortunately.

In hindsight it was ominous when Koch claimed that 'good clubs don't sack coaches'.

Never thought I would say this but Richardson is the biggest coward of all, not one peep to the members and supporters, anything, at least explaining the direction the club is taking with the head coach.
Wow and I thought KT was bad, at least he took some responsibility to the members and supporters, Richo you are as weak as piss.

Getting through to this mob is worse than talking to Telstra or Aust post, it's an utter joke.

Interestingly Rucc also said last night that he expected Adam Kingsley to come in as senior assistant next year and ultimately become senior coach in 24. Was disappointed that it won't happen now that GWS have appointed him.

If we'd moved Hinkley on once finals were out the window we could've had Kingsley, but Rucc kept on with the "Kens coaching better than ever and deserves to see out his contract"....can this bloke hear himself?!

Clubs like a care home setup for the Hinkley clan.

I despise Daddy Donuts and I could write a better defence of him than the club offers. Same deal with his defenders online. It just makes them look like morons.

There would be people at the club who'd view Saturday nights massive roll up as a vindication of their decision to keep Hinkley, rather than the chance to farewell a much loved club great, such is the vacuum they exist in these days.
If they had a brain they would see that as a sign as what's possible if we were more than mediocre (like Gray was).

Just totally out of his depth, clearly not fit to be CEO.

Just because he’s been a part of the club for 20 years and is a “good bloke” doesn’t make him suitable to be CEO.

Absolutely boys club at the moment.

Well they are on a hiding to nothing so they will say something when they have something to say. They will ignore the white noise.

They didn't speak to Clarko, so they would not of spoken to Kingsley.

Found it - that was just his own view really not the clubs.

Cornes and Rucci have changed their narrative a bit, I think behind the scenes it's a known fact Ken won't coach in 2024 even if he fluked a grand final next year Apparantly poor ken might need a break , It could be a situation where the club appoints a senior assistant with the view of considering him for the top job for 2024 without making it a promise to the guy, a bit like when Ratten was appointed along side Richo in his last year of his contract at the saints.

Right now, Essendon would kill for an Elimination Final victory.

Ken Hinkley is exactly what they need.
If Kenny were to lead Essendon to a 1 point elimination final win over Collingwood, they'd give him the keys to the city!!!

Indeed, thought he might have a little more knowledge working for the club, but your right probably nothing too it.

Still found it bewildering considering his fanboying of Ken these last few months.

So now maybe we are waiting for Essendon... although that place is tainted so assistants may not want to go there.

In saying that is Alberton very exciting?

That's because the club thinks they navigated through this issue so now he doesn't have to push the joint media narrative about how great Ken is. The whole drum up some drama around the showdown was just another thing rolled out to try and shift the fanbase to think of something else and forget the ken thing.

I don’t give a * if Hinkley sacrificed his salary due to COVID. So did everybody else in the AFL! The whole ******* human race has had to make sacrifices!

Boohoo, you only got paid 400k and substantially more than the average Australian. Spare me

A raft of assistant coaches were actively stood down and many took up blue-collar manual labour to pay the bills.

But Saint Kenneth of Akrispy had to forfeit a slice of his $800,000, and for that he deserves the job for life.
