Sign Carr as head coach and see if Hinks wants to stay around in some sort of plyer mentor role, like Choco at Richmond.
This would probably be the best case scenario.

But unlikely that a head coach would stay on at the same club that ended their reign.

Honestly would be good if everyone just stopped talking about it and let them just pay the season

If given a tap on the shoulder by Richmond to be their next coach, Hinkley will jump at it. The opportunity to coach a big Melbourne club which still has a strong list and a recent record of successs will be too alluring.
The questions then will be which players follow him - eg Bergman, Butters, Georgiades, what do we get for them and who coaches us.

I cannot see Ken wanting the pressure that comes with the Richmond job. There will be a level of scrutiny and expectation on performance he has largely been able to avoid for much of his tenure at Port.

He won't have the luxury of entering his 11th year in charge at the Tigers on the back off an 11th placed finish and 2 final wins in 8 years.

Richmond was a laughing stock for three decades because they couldn't win a final. Then Hardwick came in and guided the club to a drought breaking premiership plus a couple more. Why on earth would anyone think Richmond, coming off a mini dynasty, go to a guy like Hinkley, who can't win in finals? Absurd.

Ken's dream job would be a long and lucrative tenure at Gold Coast.

Bogan retirement paradise. Tick.
No fanbase pressure to succeed. Tick.
No negative outcome for failure. Tick.
No repercussions if he decides to walk away. Tick.
Completely agree with this. Hinkley is only suited to the Gold Coast. Richmond won't go near him. He just doesn't have any zing about him that would appeal to a big Melbourne club. Their list is at a cross roads too, I just can't see Hinkley there.

The more I think about it I don't see us getting Hardwick, and I don't think we should really go after him either. He's cooked and needs some time out of the game, at least a year, maybe more.

I think we stay the course with Carr. Carr will not be paid what Hinkley has been paid, so we use the extra soft cap to bolster our assistants. Feels like Carr is developing a great relationship with the players and if what most of us believe to be true and Carr is the driving force behind the team now, the players are the ones that would be most aware of this. No player is going to follow Hinkley to Gold Coast.

I really don't think they'd follow him anywhere. As much as Zak Butters might love Hinkley, he also loves his team mates, and Josh Carr has clearly been a huge influence on his rise this year. I'm sure it wouldn't take much more than Carr having a sit down chat with Butters to convince him to sign a long term deal.

Rozee was on the news last night saying how close him and Zak were on and off the field.

Most of our players don't know any other coach apart from Hinkley. The Fraud has been there for 11 ****ing seasons. It's like Stockholm Syndrome.

People jumping at shadows. Butters isn’t going anywhere that Hinkley may be going. Why would you go with someone who is almost 60 and would have minimal time left in the system? I could understand a multiple premiership winning coach at that age perhaps getting a 3 year contract but Hinkley getting one just defies any logic.

Honestly Kenny would probably be good for Richmond right now.

Hell be the soft touch after hard man Hardwick to keep players happy and loyal while they rebuild.

The key would be to dump him for a competitive beast when they are ready to contend..

I'm blown away how the footy media are saying the Ken has never coached better than he is at the moment - can't they see that during the games Ken is nowhere near a whiteboard or having conversations with his other coaches/tacticians etc. Ken is 100% doing the role Choco now has with Melbourne but somehow the media is observing and reporting with the clear vision of Stevie Wonder.

That would literally be the stone end for me and Port Adelaide if he gets another gig.

I have been waiting impatiently for that loser to leave, to renew my membership but I can't wait much longer. I am now finding a life outside of football.

I can't stand the smugness of him and if he were to continue to dance and do wiggly fingers after wins that are expected with that team then I might do a mischief. And although I would look amazing in prison green, I do not want to waste my life.

I wouldn't mind either Carr or Hardwick but I think we all know Koch will be giving Ken another contract extension. I just don't see him not being here next year. Everything is falling into place for him.

Stinkers would be having panic attacks at the moment knowing that now Josh and Hardwick are both available and it will get even worse if Simpson was to become available. Fortunately I don't think he's really coaching us now so hopefully playing wise we won't be affected. Make no mistake NO OTHER CLUB IS COMING FOR HINKLEY.

Haven't been to a game in nearly a season and a half.... and you know, I'm not particularly missing it. I can't get excited with this guy in charge. Friday night, with 6 Stouts under my belt, watching on TV, I left out the odd bullshit ump or WTF was that for, but I wasn't jumping around, yelling and carrying on, even when we hit the front in the last quarter like I would have been in the past. People say hate is a strong word, but I think I hate Ken Hinkley. He has whittled away of the one of the great loves of my life, the PAFC. Can it be recouped? I'm not entirely sure.

There's Buckley's chance of Hinkley being Richmond’s next head coach. The greater risk for us is Josh Carr being head-hunted.

I feel like I have PTSD with this club. On the one hand it is so obvious that we need a new coach, a fresh approach. He has gone as far as he can (which isn't very far)

However every year some other coach gets sacked and Ken is safe as govt. bonds. I am sick of it.

Just stop panicking Port and let him go. Otherwise he will end up bringing us to our knees financially and then he will be long gone and we will still be paying him off.

Time to go Ken.

I'm not so sure.

CD is sitting in the box with Carr and will know exactly what is going on during game day.

If Ken stays or goes I think it will be a club decision. Not the media, fans or Ken although all 3 will have some influence.

Lol at media saying Richmond should contact Donuts

1 - no way Donuts would want to coach a major Victorian club, the pressure and scrutiny would be like nothing he’s seen before at Port Adelaide

2 - in what world does Richmond, on the back of three flags in the last seven years phone up a perennial loser for his assistance
