No the exact opposite.

The language from all points to Kenny walking away at years end in an amicable parting of ways after 11 generally good albeit ultimately unsuccessful years.

We’ll quietly enquire about Hardwick but the plan is and always has been Carr. Only Hardwick committing to Port would derail that.
What language points to this? Sounds like wishful thinking to me. Ken doesn't seem like the type to walk away from a few more years of big money with minimal accountability and I don't see any other club offering him the senior role. Even if he starts thinking about moving on Koch will be begging him to stay. I think the only way Ken goes is if we completely implode in the second half of the season, which is possible but less likely than in previous years.

I think I just share the same mentality as a lot of people in that, yes, I hope I'm wrong about Hinkley, however I truly struggle to believe that we're set up for success just yet. Basically from this point, a GF is the only pass mark. Whilst there is a lot to like about our team, we're basically now in a state of flux until we see how the finals plays out.

Even then, even if we lose another prelim, he'll probably get an extension. And then the same problem that has cast itself over our club will remain. A coach that can't get us to the big dance and certainly can't win the whole thing. It's a pretty depressing and s**t place to be. The other problem is that he's also demonstrated year after year, that we aren't the club that could use a good year to launch at the 2024 flag, we're just as likely to bomb in 2024 and miss finals as we are to win the damn thing. It's that yo-yo effect, the lack of trust and belief in Hinkley that has bred upon years of recurrent themes and ultimate failures, that will never disappear fully until he's gone or we win the flag.

This year has such 2014 feels. Hopefully we are good enough to prevent a slide, but there's a huge opportunity on the cards for us, we've just got to be good enough to take it. I think we're also very lucky that there is a side above us taking a lot of the attention and probably even likelier to suffer a fall.

I don't see how anything less than a premiership is a pass mark. He's had 11 years ffs.

I said this during the Sydney game:

Talent has never been the problem.

Why are you comparing Port Adelaide to the least successful side in the league? You’re not making the point you think you are.
The midfield is as you say humming along and that’s with Hinkley coaching.
The massive difference now from 2021 is players like Drew have come on even better than most expected, Rozee was as weak as pi$$ in that final in 2021 and came off the ground very upset from the crowd’s reaction.
Rozee to his credit has really worked hard on his game and is now one of the best players in the competition.
Butters is another one who with more games under him is playing great this year.
Throw in JHF who can be a match winner and we are nothing like the 2021 team.
There’s improvement everywhere even my old Mate Todd has improved out of sight from his 2021 season.
This is what I see this year and I’m backing the side in as any real supporter would.
I am from the days that you never booked a holiday away in September because Port would be playing in the Grand final.
For the older supporters this 20 years of bugger all is very difficult to take and gets extremely frustrating but I see how the lads are going about it this year and I must admit I’ve got caught up in the hype because what I see is a good future if we can keep this playing group together.
Sorry if you didn’t like me using St Kilda would Melbourne be better? Same time between premierships.
Somebody has to lose😂😂😂😂

I was just thinking…how does it make Josh Carr feel knowing that Hinkley is going to get all the credit for anything that he achieves this year?

Kenny's going to love coaching at the Gold Coast Suns - low expectations for success, his mediocracy will shine.

Thought the midfield was Carr’s baby. Also the massive difference now is we’re not playing like we did in 2021.
I hadn’t been on the sack Hinkley train but 2021 was an absolute debacle of a PF and I certainly had enough by then.
I’ve been watching games and continued membership this year mainly due to the recruitment of JHF but probably like a few others here, nowhere near getting caught up in any hype. I still enjoy going to games but the passion isn’t quite there and it’s probably because I’m waiting to see if we get past PF day.

If port win the flag, I’m ******* done with football and the club.

As in “barbecuing the membership and deleting the BigFooty account” done?

Wait a few days before arcing up the barbecue… there’s a non-zero chance we still sack sorry “move sideways” sorry retire him even after winning the 2023 grand final. (Now there’s a multi I’d like to see on Sportsbet)

The “wait until August” from Koch

Ken’s “we’re not discussing it, what will happen will happen”

And most recently “ken has got to want to be here” is basically Koch lining up that he wasn’t fired, he chose, or we both agreed, it was time to move on.

If the board wanted him and he wanted to stay it would already be done. At least one of those parties isn’t on board until they see finals, I’d hazard a guess that it’s both who are looking to move on.

I feel Operation Kenny with Whateley leading the cheersquad will gain momentum.

They are Kenny's boys the case to re-sign hin is compelling.

I have never heard such over the top bullsh"t about a +10 year coach who has achieved exactly zero. It's ridiculous as unprecedented. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I hate Hinkley but not that much.

As much as he would be the most undeserving premiership coach ever I still want us to win.

Plus it would be hilarious if we sacked him after a premiership.

Why would it be undeserving if he finally got us there after 11 years of trying?

Please explain?

Old mate previously liked 240volt’s slab of ‘those are certainly all words’, so I’d say he’s having one of those sarcastic premature jabs at the doubters of the kind we usually see before the annual collapse.

And when Carlton are in ‘the furnace’ in the very next segment he’ll purse his lips and nod slowly while Robbo rants in sympathy for the Lygon Mafia calling for Vossy’s head.
