Watson: Henry Rollins
Lyon: Bewildered kids at the Big Day Out

I’ll rip your mind out, I’ll burn your soul!!!

Eeep, when are The Fauves on?

I actually find the GC membership and crowd numbers quite positive, given where they are and their lack of success.

Yeah, for whatever errors and backslides the northern clubs make, this is a decades and decades-long project to capture hearts and minds for well into the future.

And there are already signs it’s working, from the likes of Isaac Heeney and Callum Mills — born-and-bred metropolitan heartland NSWmen — becoming elite footballers, to Queensland’s junior participation numbers being higher than South Australia’s.

The cake will be baked circa 2040-2050 and beyond.

They probably won’t ever be West Coasts or Collingwoods, but they’ll be a net-positive for the sport/league across all key metrics.

Ken is built for the rebuild. He should go to West Coast.
Under the AFl funny payment to Coaches rule, the Eagles would incurr a fine from the FAl around $8m if they pay out a sacked coach.
Mean while poor old Drew get $300k (another limited set by the AFL last year when they pressured the Gold Coast to replace Drew for Clarkson)

Scared of losing Hinkley haha man that's funny.

You’d think promotion and relegation was a thing, the way they carry on.

For every scare story about changing coaches like changing socks (North post-Scott; St. Kilda post-Lyon; Carlton post-Parkin; Essendon post-Sheedy), the clubs cited are almost always broke, culturally-bankrupt, or suffering the lingering effects of apocalyptic sanctions.

You never hear about how Hawthorn sacked Schwab (recent losing Prelim) for Clarkson, Brisbane sacked Northey (recent losing Prelim) for Matthews, or West Coast walked Worsfold (recent premiership) for Simpson.

Richmond, specifically Brendan Gale, has stated that recycled coaches don't work and he prefers high calibre assistants for head coach, so more likely to go for Carr than Ken.
Gold Coast will go for Hardwick...Hinkley won't get a job because everyone in the industry knows he's done SFA for 11 years.

Tim Watson said it all. We just need more people in the media saying it. Roll on October 31 and no contract.

Lyon’s ‘yeah, but’ shock at Tim Watson’s reiteration that Hinkley hasn’t delivered a flag in the 11 seasons he’s been here, as if Port Adelaide aren’t eligible for them in the first place 😅

Kane on sprtsday just before thinks GC sacked Dew to go after Ken before August....said he knows port are yet to offer Ken anything but that 2 years for Ken would be max as anything longer would be too long for Port and silly by the club.

Thinks its a perfect fit at GC.

Unsure whether hes trying to pressure up to force Ports hand or genuinely just calling as he sees it.

Honestly, if Koch was going to cave ala 2017 he'd have done it this week. The fact he's playing a dead bat to all of this is what gives me hope.

Agreed, feels like something different is in motion down there......could just be looking at offering an extension after finals but could easily be something else at play

The club wants Carr. If Port jags a premiership this year the way out could be as simple as offering a new contract no self respecting "premiership coach" could possibly accept.

the club hierarchy can't be that braindead they can't see what's going on with carr in the box and stinkers on the bench... plus hinkleys "kicked out of the box" comments. i think they all know what's going on.

Absolutely they know what's going on, it's of their making. Now they have to work out an exit strategy that's palatable for everyone. Not easy if the premiership is won.
