I don't think we are playing how we were playing in 2020-21. We've changed the structure, personnel and selection philosophy pretty significantly. We're still trying to generate bulk I50s as a priority but we've been doing that since 2017. We've changed how we do it and what we do when we get it in there.

We've even changed since round 3 2023.

DBJ played in defence in the first 3 rounds. Now we're very clearly picking skillful players in the backline and putting our crash and bash players in the forwardline.

I definitely think we seem more happy to take risks. Sinn after last week wouldn’t get a game this week a few years back would he?

I think it’s a sum of all parts - Ken out of contact, Carr, Chad and Bass swapped roles, Ken to bench, players know it’s probably Kens last year, etc.

Ken should have been on a rolling 1 year contact, keeps the pressure on all round, no time to get comfy.

We were every bit the contender in 2020 and 2021 as we are now.

Is that for real?

Yeah man. They were 34 points up at 3/4 time and only won by 19 points - and this speech never would have put him into folklore had St Marys screwed up in the original grand final which led to a draw and a subsequent replay the following week - which is where this speech was made.

Lmao yet another swifty pulled by the used car salesman.

Yeah I've posted about it before on here. They held on to win the game but they were ahead by more at three quarter time than they won the game by.

The speech basically caused a group of bush league players to fall over the line unconvincingly
So this supposedly inspirational speech in reality wasn't inspirational at all. Hinkley is certainly a master snake oil salesmen and has a lot of people conned.

I wonder what he has got over the media because there are so many "journos" that would need surgery to remove their lips from his ass. It is sickening.

I think his time coaching at Geelong coincided when Dean Robinson was there and Mark Thompson was in the early stages of his ice addiction.

He'd have some very juicy dirt.

He'd have to be paying attention in the first place to get dirt.

Ken probably just sauntered in to his office at kardinia park, when it wasn't being bulldozed again, opened a packed toastie from home, counted up his change for the coke machine, and skimmed over the GameDay tapes before making idle chat during the drills with the boys about the good old days with Gazza and Billy and Buddha, completely oblivious to whatever was happening the gym or medical rooms.
