Hinkley would be on a fairly comparable salary, maybe $800k or so. He's been here so long he's gotten to the top increment.

Especially as the financial wizard who pulls the strings routinely says he’s the most successful coach of our AFL era.

Can’t exactly lowball when the time comes.

In two years time we will be here again referencing a 13 year sample of mediocrity as a sound reason to not extend the reign of Ken but being told by the club and it’s shameless ambassadors that his winning record is enough to justify it. Unbelievable.

If we win 13.5 games each year and bomb out in finals how could they justify sacking him compared to this time?

Same home and away win %.

Why are all the players going on two year deals... happy with every signing but its so weird and creepy given the coaching announcement that they're all lining up with his extension.

Farrell lines himself up with free agency.

Burgoyne and Williams, 2 years is a pretty standard contract for two young guys making their way. Security without over-committing

This is what makes thundercloud’s unwavering presence here so baffling.

It seems like only yesterday he was gleefully celebrating the 2017 extension, again under circumstances where it seemed as if we finally had some light at the end of the tunnel.

It’s unwavering cult of personality stuff at this point.

If 11 years isn’t enough. And now 13 years. Why not 20? 25? Why sack coaches at all?

The blueprint for longevity is obvious — befriend and coddle your players, share investments with them and your chain-of-command superior, get near enough (finals!) every other year, and tenure is assured. At Port anyway.

No. Batshit crazy. Though I do wonder if I would like to try whatever it is he is taking.
Power girl is handed a 1 and 1/2 page piece of journal writing from a student. She had told the class to keep iT to 6 to 8 lines max. Thinks i have to read and provide some learning point for what is probably crapola! Could take 10 to 15 monutes.
Decides that an 8 percent wage increase if fully justified for extra administration work.

a conditional proviso is that classroom teachers do earn their pay.

Decides that hinkley is overpaid and under worked with minimum of responsibilities.

If anyone doxxed this guy to the teacher's union he would be lynched by sundown.

Doctor Feel post of the club about to shit on a plate in front of the Port supporters telling us we haven't even tasted it yet when we protest is just as relevent, it's just our fifth course.

Even if this was a league with relegation, he still shouldn't keep a job. We often see soccer clubs sack coaches that have kept them in the top league with reliable mid table results, winning a respectable amount of games, but they seek more. They want to risk it for trophies.

I did, til one time, through a variety of phrasing more complex than this, he admitted that the past doesn't matter he only cares and has optimism for the present and future. He's a happy clapper attitude with pretty high intelligence.

The best indicator of future results is last results.

Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat.

Teachers are measured, paid, promoted and re-contracted almost solely on the performance of their students. Our head coach - not so much.

The Cornes Crime Family (alt title: The Glenelg Deep State) was on radio today, defending Ken Hinkley's record.

KANE CORNES: "Third top four finish in four years."

DAVID KING (pause): "No one celebrates top four finishes."
For once, some common sense from the media. It's kinda like having a graduation ceremony in kindergarten (which I believe might actually be a thing).

Teachers used to apply for a position at school which could be up to 10 years for a classroom position. Hinkley has been duded by comparison.

Hinkley is also remunerated in excess of 10 times the average teacher. The only people dudded here are us schmucks of supporters naively thinking the club actually wants to win a premiership.

We used to mock the so-called “Glenelg Mentality” infecting other clubs for years and years, and here we are in 2023, with it coursing through our veins like black tar heroin.

Joke’s on us.
