2003 loss against Malthouse Collingwood at the MCG after coughing up a 2 goal loss at home in the qualifying final to Sydney

Also, can we name any other team that has had years of finals failures before ultimately lifting the trophy? That in itself was an isolated event and is unlikely to repeat.

This coach and group of players is far more likely to be in the mould of Craig's Crows, Eade's Bulldogs, Lyon's Saints/Dockers, Buckley's Magpies, Cameron's Giants or Fagan's Lions (?) - good for a period of time but never good enough when it mattered.
