De Koning and Zac Guthrie who now plays about 3 inches taller than he is, it's a developing union of talent, but how lucky is Geelong, left it so late to look for a real key sized young defender out of the draft, but finally,...and it's all Gold!

Has Gibcus been nominated? His first half V Buddy was good. Strange that some bet ona kid not noiminated yet.... he could fall over and not get nominated. That year with Ablett I think the selectors thought they had time and he went out of the side..and did not come back. The nomination process in general is just a way to keep the award in front of peoples eyes.... if players like those two have done enough then both should be nominated ...who cares if its two in one week... more than one player can win the Brownlow.


In general, I think that its just too easy to value mids compared to other roles. A mid that gathers possessions will probably win it.

If you had DeKoning as your first pick and Gibcus as second in your backline you would be very very happy. Both have poise beyond their years.

No just no. You dont want to be hated. Gees i hate essendon worse then any time. It has nothing to do with success. I hate carlton second and hawthorn third.

a perception of being umpire pets and cheating the system is why they hate us. We havent won a flag for 11 years ffs.

the perception of being pets and cheats is completely wrong and i think born out of the fact we are the away team in 14 of our 22 games each season and are the away team in all big games which results in fans to focus on the frees we get cos the crowds alway boo when we get them.

if we dont recognise the problem its not something that we can unite to fix.

it has nothing to do with success and certainly nothing to do with our young talent.
