Love his aggression and has abit of mongrel but we do not need another midfielder whose disposal under pressure is ordinary but in saying that I think we should definitely give him at least another year.
His disposal was good today. Laced out Gollant straight out of the centre twice in a row, kicked a very good goal on the run from 45 metres. Had a few clever kicks from packs. I can see why we were interested, has some similar traits to Brad Crouch.

What were your thoughts on Pedlar?

I don't think his disposal is bad, per se. The issue I see is that, although he has a good footy brain, he suffers from thinking he has an age to dispose of it, getting caught a bit. This may be a problem on transfer to the AFL. He just needs to realise that quicker disposal is necessary.

Great burst player, hits every contest with speed and his disposal is generally clean (a little off today outside of the goal). Will never be a high disposal player, but will have a big impact with 10-15 touches. Rotating Pedlar, Rankine and Rachele through the middle for 5-10 minute bursts will add plenty of class to our midfield setup.

I honestly didn’t think that was an issue today, he has good burst speed that allows him a bit of extra time over other players. Has a penetrating kick too which helps.

Think Pedlar will be a slow burn, similar to Petracca. In that he will spend his first 4-5 seasons predominately as a forward with bursts in the midfield, transitioning to a full time mid as he builds his tank. Not that I’m suggesting he will reach Petracca levels, although it would be nice.

His disposal by foot is equal to or better than pretty much all of our current midfield.

Nah, when the pressure came on Frampton crumbled and that’s why he isn’t and AFL defender.the AFL won’t give him time and space to play cruise football
Correct !! ......Frampton's a bully ....his confidence drops under pressure, it's why as a FWD he fumbled all his marks ....scared of who's behind him

As a DEF he one grabs marks, because he's the one coming from behind ......in wins, he'll play well ...in Finals he'll cost you games

He's bad, in fact, really bad. Nowhere near being an AFL footballer.
I absolutely disagree with your thoughts on McAsey .....watch, i mean truly watch what he's doing out there ....not just stats

His methods of getting the ball, vary .....leads, fly's in packs, and man on man .....deft handballs, tap on's
Very hard playing deep fwd as he is, with the shocking way the ball comes in at SANFL level .....rarely has a situation where he's not in a pack of 6-7 players

Does he have a way to go .....absolutely ....but not as far as people think ....he's also a DEF at AFL level

The Bad

Borlace - Not even SANFL standard. Zero composure. At least 3 of Norths goals were due to his errors. Terrible game.
Newchurch - Not AFL standard.
McAsey - not even worth mentioning. Just a horrendous player. You would be gutted if you wasted a 3rd round pick on him. Another "Hamish Special".
Cook - soft as butter. Will not be an AFL footballer. Supporters need to stop with the false hope.
Senior AFC players allowing Moore to push them around. Fly the flag just for once FFS.

I went along mainly to watch Pedlar and came away disappointed. Just doesn't get enough of the ball. If he can't build a tank so he can play in the midfield will not make it.
This is not the line the AFC is peddling, they are bouyant about how good our SANFL players are!

Newchurch will be a delist, I'm the only one calling it but he would not survive the pressure and hardness at AFL level.

Did anyone find out why Ben Davis didn't play?

Pretty sure Nicksy is a fan of Bucky and they are treating him as a long term project type..

And Newchurch is a Cat B.. like Borlase.

Can only see these two being delisted if the club has another one or two Cat B’s that they want to bring in.. they cant just use these list spots for drafting other players.

Cat B’s are our Academy players that have unique backgrounds.. born overseas, come from different sports, indigenous lads from our zone..

Dont know that there is any really screaming out to be picked in this years draft is there?

And if there is one.. borlase would be out the door first!. He’s horrid.

I though North looked more skilful across the board with their superior field kicking and marking . Pedlar had his moments although doesn't appear to be a ' rolls royce' type. Straugan wasted in SANFL , too good a player to be held back as insurance. Didn't see too many others likely to be premiership players .
