Should the Coaches have to Apologise to Thommo?

At the end of last year Thommo would have felt like he still had a little more to give. If we never game another game, there would always be a question whether he could have made a difference. The positive from tonight's game is that he now knows he got everything out himself that he could.

He should now retire after a big win in front of a home crowd.

Probably 4 too many frees. The high tackle was the only one that was there and should've been paid.

But yeah, obvious to all he is not at AFL standard any more.

Played 82 minutes tonight. Brad had 79, Matt had 84 and Sloane had 85. They had 24+ touches each.

Ive knocked him from pillar to post over the past 3 years, but I do respect the old champ and can somewhat sympathize with his stance.

This is probably the most talented and likey bunch he has had involvement with in regard to a premiership window.
All this comming to fruition as he is set to retire.
That must be hard on such a competitive beast of a guy who has led the way for our team though so many dark days.

It was always going to take him a bit to get back into the speed of AFL. Some frees were unlucky. Thommos only addition to the side now are his fast hands at a contest. I think he will get one more game and then announce his retirement.

I dont blame him for putting his hand up for this season... We had Sloane and Mrouch as recognised mids. Brouch was always injured, and the rest were relatively unknown. He put his hand up to be the backup plan. Good on him accepting his position as age took its toll, absolute champion

Melbourne in Darwin next week, there is no way we afford to play him. Madness to even suggest it.

I agree with Tex Danger (if I've deciphered his post correctly ) that maybe this game was more to show Thommo it's time, or at the very least, has now shown him it's time to pull up stumps.

I really do hope that Scott makes a public statement to his legion of fans this week and says that's it and will play out the rest of the season in the two's.
Unfortunately if not he's really gunna cop it, if the selectors do it to us and him again.
