AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Hi,
How much midfield time would you give De Goey next year with the recruitment of Mayne as well as health Elliot and Fasolo? Personality I'd like him to have a permanant spot and be that clearance specialist we need. However knowing Buckley anything could happen.
Well my question above just got answered.
That currently brings us to 35 on the senior list. Surely Marsh is delisted and we re-rookie him.
So with 34 list spots, i propose we take one or 2 DFAs (Henderson or Litherland would be my choices) and then take 3-4 draft picks.
Leaves us with 39 primary list players with room to upgrade one rookie pre-season. It means either Mason Cox or Josh Smith are ready to go if required.
Leaves us 2 picks in the rookie draft as well, which one i would use on Will Minson, Luke Lowden or Jack Fitzpatrick as backup ruck. Lowden would be my choice.
I see KM thinks he's the best State Leaguer defender. Could he be a direct replacement for Marsh? One player I think might get taken by us is Tyler Keitel.......would be a nice fit except that he is a WA boy.

Snoop if all goes to plan what do you think?
Using pick 28 key position player, then get the 2 father and sons. Then i would personally like to see us taking a punt on another key positional prospect at 62 on a bit of a rough diamond. Who could still be available at that pick? Also do you think that would be a good idea? Or something the club may look at.
Doing my mock now and looks like Brennan Cox gets to us with the worry coming from the Dogs. People think a touch slow but tested fine. Then take the two boys and I would probably aim for Kietel if didn't think would last to rookie. Jack Maibum another but does he do enough offensively? If we thought he would then I think there are a few who could be around. Clubs still have some questions on Cedric Cox so he is a toughie.

Not if he will most likely will want to go home in 2 years.....I see KM thinks he's the best State Leaguer defender. Could he be a direct replacement for Marsh?
We have been pretty good with the WA kids over the years. Not if he will most likely will want to go home in 2 years.....
Off field or on field questions on Cox snoopy?
Would love for him to slide all the way to one of our later picks. Shares some similar traits to Burgoyne when he was young imo. Could develop into a classy player in time.
I remember him doing quite well in the U-18 Champs a Few Years ago but Knock on him he was Slow

Also sounds like their might be some quality left over in the rookie draft.
You asked this on the trades board too.Hey Snoop Dog someone said on here a week or so ago that there's a 20 or was it 25% discount for father sons and for a club to force our hand they'd have to bid on Brown at pick 22 to ensure we use our first? Is that right?
Yeah nirvana draft for me would be Shai Bolton or Cedric Cox get through or even a Jordan Ridley and then no bids for Daicos or Brown by the next in which case would think one of Brennan Cox, Elliott Himmelberg or Jack Maibaum would at least be there.
The rookie picks then give us lots of flex to look at a Kietel or DFA defender and there are some that appeal like Litherland, Schade, O'Shea etc. need a ruck and for mine a Minson is one to look at but would even be open to Olongo if still around. Very raw worth developing and then a couple of kids one of which I would love to be a zippy small forward. Willie Rioli, Sam fowler etc

Rules state that to match a bid you have to use the next available pick. Left over points from the matched bid determine where your pick gets pushed back to. All picks after 18 have a flat discount of 197 points. If a team bids at 25 we still use 28 to match, and that pick gets pushed back to late in the draft based on the points remaining.
I love the idea of Willie Rioli as our last pick or via the rookie draft. What do you reckon about Stengle as another option?
I'd been also interested in hearing your opinion snoop as to who you would prefer out of Brennan Cox vs Macreadie (and to a lesser extent Sproule) if both were available?
Snoop D! Love you work mate you seem to have your finger on the pulse i have another question for you?
I am conerned Brown junior may not have a happy ending for us.
I could see some prick club playing a bluff and forcing us to pick him at 28 or 29 or whatever our first pick may be?
And i could see Hine if there is good enough key position talent left ,telling that club "you can have him" i dont think we will have the same problems with Daicos junior i am cofident we could pick him up with our 3rd or even our 4th selection.
Just wondering what you think of the possibilities of that happening? If it does what will Hine do?
Also what would be the earliest bid by a opposition club, that would trigger us having to use our first pick on Brown?
