Interesting, I wonder what type of explanation we'll get... unusual that a full review can discover something about a senior coach 6 months after he's been resigned and presumably the due diligence that was done at that time.

Fluctuations within the season and within games in terms of effort was super frustrating and never really explained. Systems around stoppages and inside 50 were obviously poor and never seemed to try new things to get a better... but this was plain to see even half way through the year. Line coaches obviously weren't great either.

Not a bad decision, just seems to be odd timing and inconsistent with messaging throughout the year

Sacking a coach who’s 16 games in vs. sacking a coach who signed an extension 98 days ago.

16 games in vs 3 years in. They *ed up re-signing him mid-season. That's what's happened here.
Ratts was trying and living in Melbourne. Not good enough however.

Feel sorry for Ratts. Good guy. Didn’t quite seem up to it. But we were a rabble towards the end of the season.

And I was alarmed to see how he looked on the night of our recent Best and Fairest. Looked a shell of a guy. The review had just taken place. A couple of people commented on it at the time and it just seemed to pass by. Wonder if it all became too much, or the writing was on the wall.
