Ross was given on both occasions A Grade teams in their prime.
The club is acknowledging that we arent even ready yet.

If we are going to do this thing. Do it ******* properly. Have a process. Have interviews. Then choose the best person.

How many coaches have succeeded without the actual process in place?
The club has acknowledged we don’t have A graders. They have also said we have a list of potential.

From what I was told. The development of our footballers was a key reoccurring theme in this review.

With a night to marinate in my thoughts and the news commiserations go out to Ratten, being sacked quickly and unceremoniously like this has got to be hard. Being sacked a second time even harder.

No doubt a good bloke and at times really got the players on his side but tactically I had my doubts. The game plan was the biggest critique of the season for me and his tenure in general. Not being one that was repeatable and sustainable but one that pinched lucky results here and there and beat up weaker teams. Lead to a rollercoaster of emotions for saints fans thinking we were either kings of the world or pathetic every week.

Really really really nervous about who we get for coach. We have a good young core that could either be Moulded into great players by the new coach or the disorder could absolutely tank their development and we bomb another generation.

Other than that have genuinely not stopped laughing all morning. So after a boring trade period at least we have something to post about

All I hope is that they are honest about the next appointment.

If you have someone lined up, say so - doesnt need to be an announcement of the new coach today or anything like that, but dont give us the standard "we'll get a committee together and go thru a process" line if you know who's gonna win already.

I think we are all nervous.

It’s funny, because I haven’t seen one poster saying we could get worse then what we have.

I can’t remember who was saying it on trade radio the other week, but the complete over the top hysteria in the media regarding coaches is a flipping joke.

Months ago, the whole media landscape was basically calling for Rattens sacking, and even though I get the timing is odd, it’s now completely back flipped to being unfair and brutal on Ratten, and that he can’t be blamed as it’s more a list issue.

Media coverage regarding the AFL and especially coaches under pressure is just utter trash.

Yep...it's a massive, massive appointment.
On the precipice of the 8 we could easily fall backwards as much as forwards.

Max King, Owens, Nasiah, Windy, Clark, Coffield, Higgins. These players if the new coach is shit either not develop well or want out to a different club. Then what are we left with?
