no doubt we clammed up the last 10 minutes or so, and really seemed to hit a wall when they got to within nine ...
i thought we were gone and i'm still a bit numb at the fact we hung on ...
there were a few really big individual moments ...
mcinerney, cunningham, florent, mcdonald, mclean, wicks, amartey ... would have to check replay but from memory they all made key plays
some important marks and great tackles, some really crucial, strong tackles!
four weeks ago we'd have lost that game, tonight we were clearly better for three quarters ... with several players well down ...
whether it was the injuries, or just that essendon kept coming, but i'm not gonna be too harsh ...
that was a big win, we're alive and kicking ...
and i'm happy to be taking on the giants with them at seven in a row ... they're due a loss, so we can arrange that for them

In a way it's like 2023 Sydney have shown they are ordinary

Jmac has been in our top 5 players the past 2 months or so has to be said. Low possession game but is really going under the radar for us lately. As a defence, really composed at ground level in our defensive 50 and rebound was good too.

He's turned the corner I reckon. Hits the contests much harder and the extra size he looks to have in the shoulders and chest is working wonders. Always been a natural footballer with good skills but if he can consistently add that hardness in the contest week in week out he's gunna be quite the player.
