16NOV23: Swans Daily Media
Have you noticed its the Swans who the media all turn to for opinions regarding the Northern States?

Don't know how to share it but there was a great read on Tim Gossage talking about vic fixture bias . If anyone wants to add or put it up in here

Didn't Cameron get the pop us into 5 finals series . Some people are better in a support role . Looking more like BIG COXS to take over
Cameron will be a bonus.

Good Football Person.
Very Good AFL Footballer 256 Games.
Over 50% Percent Winning Strike Rate As A Coach Including Finals 5Years Out Of 9 Including Grand Final.

No Slight on Gardiner and his 60 odd journeyman games as an AFL Footballer who done an adequate job but this is an upgrade.
Gardiner was another jobs for the boys appointment under Harley and the Geelong connection.

Cameron has well and truly earned his stripes and people who say this is not a good appointment have NFI.

Agree completely with this.

I reckon Harley saw Charley Corporate as his replacement if he got the AFL gig.

If Longmire is to move on after this contract, having an experienced footy person in the DoF role will be important.

Looks like KB and the Swans rate Will Green highly - he is in the mix

Caddy and Sullivan also in the mix if there available

We are going for best Available

We might even trade 12 for 17 and 18 from NM - not offical

Don't mind the idea of Green. No to Caddy, and I expect him to be gone anyway so this smells like smoke.

Trade down might not be bad, but it will depend how the board shakes out.

I still think its Leake if he's there and I grow more and more confident.

22NOV23: Swans Daily Media
Here come compulsory draft assessments - which are almost always incorrect.

Fox with a shocking assessment all round - biased towards the high end without taking into account what picks the clubs had and how they used them to fit needs, or didn't.

HS (paywalled)
By far a better analysis, less hyperbole and an actual assessment of needs based drafting.

MCKIRDYS VERDICT: The Swans are understandably excited about Will Green, a standout ruck prospect. Also added was Academy prospect Caiden Cleary a talented midfielder as well as promising rebounding defender Patrick Snell. Some shrewd picks that should serve them in 2024 and beyond.

ESPN:

Thanks for those, Ticky. I like the ESPN analysis/gradings. Although, of course, only time will really tell.

Seriously that's as much as you can reasonably say about any team's drafting and recruiting 36 hours after the event.

Instead of filling up their pages with meaningless hot takes, the Melbourne footy media should revisit their post-draft reviews from five years ago and grade themselves.

That would require a vague interest in what you're writing (None of them give a shit what they write or put their names on) and a level of willingness to self-reflect.

No love lost between the little rat and Beatson. IMO it's personal.
Why, because he recognised our tendency to bid and called us 'Bidney'?

Not sure Swans fans on here can get upset about that...

Will Bidney be back in business? I hope so!

Bidney 🤣

Happily take Croft

Bidney's back on the menu boys!

were not done yet, McCabe welcome to Bidney
