Might be a good thing to have someone working in Melbourne with the Vic based managers, AFL H/O, etc.how odd.

I think your trying to find too many negatives , the beauty is that they have both coached an AFL team .Having a few minutes to digest. Not too happy.
Spike is OK, though I think a minor downgrade on Pyke. As adults the brothers should be able to work together. Implications for Macca?
Cameron as Horse's boss? Not happy at all. One of the great things about Gardiner is that he did his job (well IMO) and kept to his patch. Can Cameron be trusted to do that?
Has the potential to tear the team apart.

Can't say as I agree there Chris. Leon has been a part of the team for a while now so I wouldn't have thought he'd have been appointed to the position if there was any signs of tension between he and Longmire.Having a few minutes to digest. Not too happy.

I'll be very happy if you're correct. I can get a bit glass half empty. Seen it in my work life. Can't say as I agree there Chris. We're kinda being infiltrated by an unsuccessful GWS regime.
Leon Cameron, Mark McVeigh and Amon Buchanan who moved from the Giants after a season in which they finished 16th. Damian Truslove who moved from the Giants VFL side to ours after a season in which they finished 13th.
I know it's not easy to find coaches who want to move and live in NSW, but geez...
Agreed, but nothing we can do except hope for the best. Luckily I think we're still in safe hands with the big dog. Or should I say, big Horse.and who were widely considered to have massively underdelivered when taking into account the talent on the GWS list.
No matter who replaced Pyke, it would have been a downgrade.Having a few minutes to digest. Not too happy.

Like that.No matter who replaced Pyke, it would have been a downgrade.
I'm curious as to who will take Cameron's role with the academy. Could it be big Stewie making a comeback to the swannies?

Can't see Cameron behaving like Horse's boss, unless Horse lets him. Few runs on the board v Horse's runs on the board.Having a few minutes to digest. Not too happy.

Hope you're correct. As far as an outsider can tell Charlie did a good job. Cameron is a surprise to me, not because he's necessarily a dud, but because he's always been a coach until this year. Can't see Cameron behaving like Horse's boss, unless Horse lets him. I think this means Horse will not be around past the next two seasons of his contract. A guy like Cameron has no pull over Horse. Horse who has been around for so long that a coach of lesser experience and less runs on the board would have little or no influence over Horse in a position of management. Unless Horse allows it. That is how I see it. Maybe Horse has said this is the last contract and is allowing Cameron to assume control in partnership with Horse to find a successor to head coach.Hope you're correct. I'll spare you the trouble as I read it and it's just a word for word copy of Harley's quotes from his presser this afternoon. Spoke highly of Mills character, leadership and quality as a footballer and said that he'll likely feature prominently in the voting process when they do it again at the end of the year. There's a paywalled article on HS about the swans verdict of Mills captaincy. I can't read it though.
