It's infuriating how badly our appeal argument is
I haven't been following it. I think it's a nonsensical suspension in the first place, it's not even the worst thing I've seen a Swans player do this year, let alone anyone else. But as I've said before I also think it could be our chance to manage Heeney, so I'm very 'meh' on the whole thing.

I'd rather he wins a Norm

Saw this coming, not surprised at all... perhaps a combination of the match committee not being happy with the pressure and also the team desperately needing new life after 2 losses.
New life isn't dropping the structure that got you there in the first place. Horse falling into old habits on the brink of finals. I just don't see the relevance of dropping Wicks and then having all of Mills, campbell and Roberts in who roughly play the same role. At least go somewhat like for like.

We've had structural meltdowns before on the back of positional musical chairs. That manic small high half forward role is crucial in today's game, and even a not always in hot form Wicks has influenced countless scoring chains this year.

Hopefully just a temporary reprieve rather than a genuine look at other options. But I don't like it.

All the people switching sides with Wicks all of a sudden. Saw this coming from a mile away

I like wicks but he hasn’t near it atm

Impact is impact and he isn’t having any

Parker is the logical replacement for Heeney in that he can take an overhead/contested mark inside 50 and crafty around goals. Even though he hasn't been a forward this year, those are still things Heeney's been able to offer.

And whilst I'm not a fan of Parker in the mids, I liked him most in there when he was playing more defensive, putting body on opponents and blocking them to free space up for others as he did in the back end of 2022 and it helped get us to a GF. That is a particular aspect currently missing from our midfield, so maybe he has something to offer there, too.

The overriding reservation though just comes back to his pace for me. He looked slower than ever in his VFL stint earlier this year. I just don't think he's going to offer much by way of pressure inside 50. If he plays forward he has to be a big factor with the ball.

I disagree. Still manages score involvements. Some of which in recent weeks have been at important moments. Our losses had nothing to do with him.

Like I said I get if it were like for like. Maybe his pressure and ability to find the ball was down last couple weeks (but who's wasn't), now we get none of it because he's out without a competent replacement for what is a much needed role. Keep in mind there will be no Heeney either to pinch hit forward. Unless Wicks comes in for him

Just think you need impact and he isn’t doing it

I can't believe Parker wasn't selected. The disrespect from the club is shameful! He should be in that side ahead of 3 or 4 at the least!

Ahh yes.
Cause of all those selections already this year.
