Team Changes for Sydney

NO CHANGE!

Why mess with a winning team. No need to drop anyone!
Well Hyde gave away 4 free kicks against Stanton, not only that he is averaging 2 free kicks against this year, looking back I wouldn't mind Hyde out for Polak in.

Sure it was a winning formula, but remember it was against a side that will be bottom 4.

If we can make a change for the better of the team and better for the matchups against Sydney then do it, changing a team up can be good for the boys so they can't get comfortable and go back to the footy we were playing previous to the Freo match this year.

I don't think you can drop someone because they gave away free kicks. That's a bit much. There is no-one decent to come into the side anyway at the moment.

If they are a tagger then you can, his job is to negate the best opposition midfielder, by giving away free kicks he is doing the opposite.

It's undisciplened.

get with the program TW. They will play it tight as the always do, so you need guns that shoot laser beams, not shot guns that spray pellets.

Connors has to play in this one. ;)

If you're saying that Hyde WAS tagging Stanton, then dropping him would be ridiculous. Stanton had 15 possessions. He averaged 20 before Saturday Night.

When do we start punishing our youngsters for inconsistency?

I see so many of you wanting to give Reiwoldt a rest, Hughes been taken in-and-out of the side, McGuane having a rest... but everyone continues to lay off Tambling.

One quarter of magic doesnt float my boat. There is daylight between him and Lids. Even Cotchin is starting to catch him.

How many games do you manage to watch of Richmond out of interest?

There wasnt a point to it. It was just a random question in a random thread because your location says London although the above post suggests otherwise.

No... not so random at all. I live in London and have done for a few years. I watch every game (majority live) otherwise l get a delayed telecast.

I flew into Melbourne on Saturday morning and although jet-lagged, make my way straight to the Royal to meet some fellow Big Footy Richmond supporters have a few pints, look at some dirty whores and then watch the game.

I leave for London next week... commitment shouldnt be questioned. ;)

Tambling should not be dropped unless he doesn't follow instructions and team rules. He has the ability to ignite like he did in the first half on Sat. Started the ball rolling. I'd get rid of Hyde/pettifer/bowden before I'd drop tambling.

Just asking the question... the word "ignite" is the biggest furphy. Its an over-used word that doesnt mean much. A word that many use to protect a frustrating player.

I smell a Daniel Wells in the air... and l regard him as the most frustrating player in the comp. And think we could've had him as well.

can confirm that wally bleeds yellow and black. He is however a tough judge when it comes to the royal shmoo.

Bowden wasn't too bad.
I would leave him in and give Hyde a spell and Tucky must be getting close to being dropped. I think he is almost past his use by date.

Tuck was average against Geelong but he was good against Essendon - as he has been most of the season.

The last team you drop your human bulldozer centreman against is the Swans playing at home.

maybe just the one change.

In polak
Out: Hyde

Sydney as we all know are the best lock-down side and are good at getting their hands 'dirty' by crash and bash football. Think polak can come back into the side .

While hyde has been honourable, dont think he could tag goodes (only player imo would warrant a tag...maybe kirk) so either polak comes in or jackson to tag goodes

Nice to see some discussion underway on what's sure to be a cracking match. Can't wait to be at the game!

We'd love having some more Richmond supporters on our Pre-Match Thread as many have found their way down to us with a good response and we love having them there :)

Feel free to come in and post!

And giving away 4 free kicks to opposition that is of Premiership calibre will see a much more damaging effect, Stanton was nowhere near his best last Saturday, but it wasn't due to Hyde, they were all down and the only players close to their best were McVeigh, Hille and Lloyd.

Agree no need to change a winning team, unless for match-up reasons, which Plough has shown he is willing to do this year with Polak, Hyde, Jackson.
Thought Hyde was pretty good on Stanton after doing great jobs on Bateman and Montagna (and getting his pants pulled down by Ablett), so he doesn't deserve to be dropped, although I'm not sure who his best match-up is on Sunday. Haven't seen much of Sydney this year, Kirk is their No.1 midfielder but he's almost a tagger himself, hardly the outside running type that Hyde has been going with recently.
Tuck is a certainty, especially against a tough side like Sydney that loves to create stoppages. Agreed his disposal can let him down but he seems to be playing more as a stopping midfielder this year (eg took Joel Corey to the cleaners against Geelong) so maybe he's better suited to Kirk.
Who do you think will go to Goodes? Kel Moore has to be the man.
