Very very unlucky on Jericho, he has been playing alright footy and apparently was very good against the Blues so it is harsh that he was dropped. Good to see Roo back in though and Griff playing is a surprise but I'm stoked with that as we don't have anybody putting their hand up to replace him.

Feel sorry for Luke Jericho, but cant wait to see Roo back. I remember at the start of the year a lot of people thought Scott Welsh would only be playing until Roo is back, but hes obviously having a good season so far so it will be interesting to see how the forward line works now.

Brent Reilly and Stiffy should be better this week, so the team is starting to look a lot more like it would if all players were available. Griffen in the side is a huge bonus, I thought it would be Roo in for Griffen with Perrie doing some of the Ruck and the forward line rotating off the bench but this looks much more reliable.

Re: Jericho out, Roo in

It's been wet over here all week, with forecast of more rain for tomorrow and Saturday. Maybe Jericho isn't considered as strong a wet weather player as some of the other candidates for omission?

Harsh call on Jericho though IMHO.

The other interesting one is Griffin passed fit and Maric not even an emergency. They've got to be pretty confident in Griff's ankle.

i'm reading between the lines - Griffin doesn't come up fit, Jericho goes in and Perrie to the ruck ?

otherwise norwood will get some benefit for their 30k investment in Luke

A real test of character for Jericho now. Lets hope he passes with filying colours

Great to have Roo back.

Bit worried about Griffin, hopefully he plays out the game.

Torney was never a candidae for dropping IMO. He has had a very solid season and would have far more runs on the board than Jericho.

Can't agree that we are top heavy. If anything we have been playing one tall forward short. Neither Roo or Welsh are tall forwards, they are mediums at best.

McGregor is the emergency for Griff and Will rotate with Perrie.

Jericho as emergency for Forwards or Midfielders

Massie emergency for any defenders.

Makes perfect sense.

I agree that we are not top heavy, however I thought we are probably 'undersized' in the backline. Rutten, Bassett & Mattner, all who are not tall, but tend to pick up the taller options. Only Stevens (when back there) is the tall option.

Re: Jericho out, Roo in

Jez played the Burtonesque wingman/forward role against Carlton - could've easily played there again I'd have thought.

Agreed. I thought Jericho, given his improving form, would have remained in the side until Burton returned to claim his position.

I can see that Welsh will rotate bewteen HFF and FF when Roo has a rest, which i agree with. However, i thought Jericho would have been good value on the other flank/wing.

Regarding the dropping of Stevens for Roo as has been mooted, i disagree with that based on structure...i reckon we still need one tall along FF line and HF line and at CHB, despite the predictions of inclement weather. While the resting ruckman could be used on the FF line, i would not be relying on this given Griffin may still have some ankle soreness. If Stevens gets dropped, i would want him replaced with a similar tall.

Bad luck for Jericho but it was the right decision, he's done nothing for 3 years and plays one good game. He was only in the team by default anyway.

Amazing that everyone was going nuts when he was selected now everyone is ZOMG    he is playd teh good game tho!!111eleven

Jezza, very, very stiff. He'll be back.

Griff fit? Don't know on this one. Jezza might get a game if he doesn't come up, Pez will pinch hit in the ruck.

Agreed. Meant one tall short, don't know why I typed forward as I meant defender.:)

Neil is always going on about structure, so the Jedi for Roo seems logical, the thing that is interesting is the potential change in the forward line he was predicting.

Lets hope he can now find some consistent and high quality SANFL form that warrants or demands a recall.

Re: Jericho out, Roo in

Jesus christ.

Very harsh on Jezza.

Up there with 2005 when Chocolate dropped Chaplin after a sensational game on Nathan Thompson to readmit... Bishop.

In this case Ricciuto is a freak and worth 800000 Bishops, but I'd drop one or two others before Jez.

Feck!

Jericho scored 96 for my dream team last week!

seriously though, seems a bit harsh but obviously they intend Roo to play the same forward role.

Personally I would have thought that Torney would have been the option considering what Craig was talking about structure wise on Monday. That Roo is a 'bench' player option and I could only see two bench players that fit which were Jericho and Torney. I would have thought that Jericho might stay due to his performance on the weekend although there were a couple of areas that he could still improve apon. But obviously that club sees it as a straight swap for a forward / midfield bench option with Roo unlike Torney who is the backlines / midfield option.

When it comes down to it, Jericho has played one quite good game for our Club, that's it. Torney deserves a hell of a lot more loyalty than Jericho, at this stage.

Now Jericho needs to go back to the SANFL and demand a spot, not get one through injury.

Heavin forbid football fans have opinions that are dynamic!

Now, you know thats wrong. I was pro-jericho before he got selected.

I didn't think that Jericho would be the one missing out because of his form in the past fortnight. He was very unlucky but i guess someone has to be dropped.

Very happy with team selection this week ......Roo back is great ...just need to get Burton back in, Maric playing good footy with Griffin playing as a forward.

Griffin and Maric need to get plenty of gametime if we're to do anything come finals time.

As players strat to come back McGregor and Jericho will continue to struggle to get games ......a great sign for the strength of our list :)
