I guess my point is that I find that accusation very offensive and manifestly untrue - what do you do, just let people accuse me and not correct it? What do you suggest I do?

I didn't see it as a threat more an attempt at assertively standing up for himself in the face of unfair accusations. The OP that started all this was a mistake on Scooters part and if he knew about the 40,000th post I'm fairly sure it wouldn't have happened. Just my take I'm not interested in taking sides over this.

Hello. I've been lurker on this forum for a couple of years now, and have been too nervous to sign up ....

.... I saw it towards the end of the run, so perhaps it (Tim Ginever's show) was a bit smoother by then.

The night we went (mid run) there were 4-5 people in the audience he knew, including family members and current Port players. He played up to them from time to time which detracted from the show. And when he did that he went from prepared entertainer to sweary buffoon. But I'd have to think there were people there he knew every night so that's no reason to drift away from the planned performance. My wife is a Port fan of long duration and likes Tim, but she was disappointed. And when Mrs Powerstufff is disappointed apparently I am too.

This is all based on the assumption that I knew Portia was a transgender person, which I did not. Had I known, I would've been able to recognise that her reaction was more than the normal argy bargy that is par for the course in this thread and posted with more sensitivity. I didn't think the video was offensive, but understand now that it was not appropriate for this community given all of the above.

I feel awful that Portia feels she needs to leave the forum - I assume because of our argument, but we don't know that. I have apologised to her privately for my lack of discretion. If anyone knows her, tell her I would be happy to not contribute if that would make her feel more welcome. This forum is a play thing for me, I enjoy it but don't really need it in my life.

However, I totally reject the notion that the subsequent conversation was anything other than a disagreement and I will absolutely stand by everything I said - it is still there, feel free to review it. I was nothing but conciliatory and polite despite some pretty vicious stuff coming back my way.

This isnt just for you, but for anyone - people need to be *very* careful with what they're accusing me of. I do not take those sort of assertions lightly. You do not get to misrepresent me as anything other than tactless.

My suggestion would be to move on from here, everything that needs to be said has been said, and would encourage the mods to enforce that - Ford Fairlane Macca19 TeeKray Forzaport

Ok, I appreciate that you feel awful about all of this. The whole thing is horrible.
I also get that it's probably best to now move on. But if I could just say one more thing-

I'm not a transgendered person, but I was offended by that video and what was said.
It's like in season 2 of the office and that woman from Swindon says to Brent'--"Why is it that only Black people should be offended by rascism?"
If something is offensive, then it is offensive.

As you can probably appreciate there's really no way of knowing if new posters are genuine or just an existing poster's freshly-minted alias account.
