To be fair, everyones opinion is full of **** if they don't agree with you.
I will happily listen to other people’s opinions when they hit me with facts and aren’t just talking out of their arse.

MOC all the way back to 2016 has done nothing but downplay Cripps ability as a footballer. He has 10 pages worth of posts criticising Cripps for ****s sake. It’s an obsession. So forgive me for not agreeing with his latest rubbish about Cripps which he has nothing to back up his opinion with.

Is that because he thinks there a players better than Cripps?

Well boo hoo, he is not the only one that thinks that, we have 3 midfielders i wouldn't swap for Cripps, and i would say many teams have midfielders they wouldn't swap for him.

I don’t care if he thinks there’s a few players better.

But to say he doesn’t belong in the conversation is a joke. He measures up to every midfielder in the competition. If he isn’t one of the best he is damn close.

Telling Carlton fans he isn’t up there and not providing anything of substance to prove his point is just flat out shitposting.

Gets tiring reading the same hate about Cripps and Curnow in every Carlton thread from this dude.

And claims he’s not biased. Give me a spell.

If I say Cripps would be our third best mid behind Bont and Macrae I’ll be flamed as well.

All the way back to 2016 Carlton fans have gnashed teeth because I don’t declare Cripps the best.

And now because I criticise a forward of theirs who has kicked four goals this year, along with 30 last year which apparently deserved a pre-season full of hype, they are even madder.

Wait until someone dare suggests Bailey Smith is a more impactful player than Sam Walsh. They will still be hearing about that in 2022

Charlie has been lazy IMO this year. His form has gone backwards since Mackay came into the team. Mackay seems to be the go to forward which means Curnow needs to work harder to find the ball. And he's not. I'd play him at CHB and see how he goes. Worked for Moore at Collingwood.

Mackay looks great down forward. Put McGovern down forward with Casboult rotating with Kruezer. Play Curnow at CHB and see if he can make the position his own. The ball is clearly spending more time in their defence which gives hom more chance to find some touch.

Weitering is finally settled at CHB, and has shown vast improvement there this year. Why move him out to accomodate Curnow?

They don't have a lot to keep them happy at the moment.

I'm sure both can co-exist in defence. They are getting nothing from him down forward. Hooker and Hurley work very well together in defence, i think Curnow and Weitering could do similar. Moore for Collingwood came on the scene similar to Curnow and the move to defence could turn out to be an AA nomination coming his way. I feel it's worth a try now McGovern is there and can play forward..

How many talls do they need down back though? The Blues already play four 191cm+ guys down there as it is (Weitering, Marchbank, Plowman, Jones/Casboult).

I think Charlie could be used in the midfield more, or (cue Robert Walls) be used as ruck relief.

When people bring up ideas like this, "move him back, midfield, ruck" it doesn't hit me as a standout player.

When has Charlie done a stand out season... Don't get me wrong he has potential but that is it potential
Curnow was pretty good last year in a basket case side. Even the year before he showed a lot of promise.

Maybe not what you’d call standout seasons but for a young CHF he was tracking along well.

I don’t think Curnow is a backmen. He played just fine last year as a forward. The midfield simply doesn’t get the ball inside 50 enough for Curnow and McKay to both have big impacts.

Curnow has also been bothered by bone bruising in his knee. I’d wait until later in the year after he’s had a run of games before the club should think about playing him elsewhere. If it comes to that I’d rather see him get a run in the midfield anyway. He’s one of the fittest blokes at the club and is a massive kick.

This post doesn't scream "stand out" player either.
He explained what he meant. A stand out player at Carlton. If you want to continue to ignore that then go ahead.

I’ve got no issues if Curnow continues to play like this until the end of the year if you and others then want to discuss if he’s really going to amount to much.

But as of right now based just off this season seems a bit premature. Particularly when he was good last year.

Look, i like the bloke, but you are the one having a go a people who don't.

No, I’m having a go at a poster who refuses to post any sort of stats or evidence.

Just talks out of his arse.

4 goals in six games. Barely averaging double figure possessions.

How are those for stats?

Going to continue to play the man?

So you’re basing how talented he is off 6 games this season? That’s a small sample size if I’ve ever seen one.

2018: 13.8 disposals a game, 6.2 marks a game (1.9 contested ), 1.7 goals a game (34 for the year)
2017: 14.1 disposals a game, 5.7 marks a game (1.7 contested), 0.9 goals a game (20 for the year)

Explain to me how that is a young key forward who isn’t extremely talented and is only athletic.

I’d say his stats last year were fairly impressive considering he was playing for one of the worst teams ever right at the bottom for inside 50s.
