Talking of an inside bull who can win the ball and farm it out...how about Tom Liberatore? Seems to be out of favour and is a restricted free agent.

A second chance at another club could be just what he needs.

Dusty's injury cost us dearly, it's a pity no one else could stand up. Astbury and Butler for Gaff would be good.

Couldn’t believe watching game thinking Bellis would have been handy he gets the ball and has a crack.
No way we already had a few just bombing it and turning it over eg Houli. To be honest I don't think a fit Lynch could have saved us on the night.

Can’t believe people are talking about trading Astbury, the guy had gastro, yeah he shouldn’t have played but he’s not dying, he’ll be more than ready to go next year and the last thing we want to do is break up that defence, Astbury and Rance had shockers but it was one game, it’s still our best line and how close they are is a reason for that.

Some have very short memories.
It's nothing personal against Astbury, but Garthwaite can do a simular job, it then frees up money for an A grader.Astbury is negating player but skills let him down.Doesnt always show up to big games, should not have played Vs Collingwood. You need to trade something good to get something good.

And Rance would walk out the door that i'm certain of if we traded Astbury in light of bringing in Lynch.

You need to trade something good to get something good.

There is another way. You can draft something good and develop it

Same. How do we go from being recognised statistically and generally universally by all coaches as having the best backline to suddenly breaking up the band? Astbury has grown and grown and grown. If this is the best he becomes, then OK. He wont be playing just out of hospital treatment every game!

Sydney and Hawthorn have shown you can bring in multiple A graders at once with some backend/frontend contracts.Eg Tippett and Franklin
Thats worked out well for the Swans.
Lost Mumford/Mitchell/Hannaberry.
And nothing to show for it.

That said, I look forward to grabbing Nick Haynes next year (or a year earlier if they want)

I think we are locked into going to the draft for the next few years i feel with our salary cap.

Let's just say I know he'd like in from a purely footballing perspective. I thought it was a near certainty until Rance decided he will go on (which is good of course), as he was considering is footballing future again. Premierships are certainly fun and sway minds.

In Dimma's presser he stated 'we will attract some talent'. This is somewhat unusual for him as he usually gives nothing away in regards to recruitment, obviously Tom Lynch is a lock, but it made me think that possibly there may be other players keen to join the club. I think we could come up with a few surprises this trade period. Can't see them being any big names due to salary cap, but wouldn't be surprised if we bring in more than just Tom Lynch. Balme also gives nothing away, so who knows what he has planned, with a lot of players still out of contract there are many options for us and the trade period will be very interesting.

Well drafting something good and develop didnt help us this year and cost us a flag. It's unprecedented for any Premiership team to not trade in players.

Would have been over the moon if we got him.Maybe just maybe if the Plastics flop again he may wanna play for peanuts.

Tom Scully ?
Haven't heard anything ,don't have a source but wreckon he would be handy .
Gut running mid left footer to replace Conca or Grigg .
Shouldn't want mega bucks as he was paid overs when he left Melbourne .

Scully would suit us to a tee.But unless he takes a massive pay cut(and who in their right mind would)no chance.

F*ck me no wonder everyone says Richmond fans are the worst. 1 (choke) loss and they want to trade out half the team on the back of a season where we finished 2 games on top and made the prelim. Geelong never went B2B, let’s look at their delistings/trade-outs in between premierships:

2008: Tim Callan, Henry Playfair, Steven King, Charlie Gardner, Joel Reynolds, Matthew Spenser, Sam Hunt, Stephen Owen, Todd Grima

2010: Shane Mumford (believe he wanted out), Adam Donohue, Dan McKenna, Brodie Moles, Scott Simpson, Kane Tenance, Bryn Weadon, Matthew Egan (retired), Tom Harley (retired), David Johnson (retired)

So apart from Mumford and the retirees in 2010, they never traded out best 22 nor should we.
