Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Is this right?

Senior list
  1. Flynn
  2. Brockman
  3. Pick 1
  4. Pick 23
  5. Pick 37

Senior or rookie list
  1. Pick 58, DFA, PSD or RD
  2. Pick 81, DFA, PSD or RD

Rookie list
  1. Culley
  2. Maric
  3. Trew
  4. RD
  5. RD, SPP or MSD
  6. RD, SPP or MSD

Cat B
  1. Dewar
  2. Baker
  3. Vacant

I think we’re only allowed two Cat Bs.

Culley could be promoted although it doesn’t seem like it’s happening. Trew could yet be delisted.

We’ve only got four RL spots unless we forego a senior list spot.

It’s also a myth that you need top 20 picks alone to build a list. We got Long at what, 58 last year? Barrass was like pick 37? Allen pick 21?

You can find guys at later picks with the right scouting and development. Take Reid, figure the rest out later. We’ve already renegerated the list quite a bit the last 12-18 months. More to come, but we need building blocks. Reid is the key.

16 becomes pick 21, I’d be very, very surprised if Hardeman is still on the board then. Schoenmaker gone by 23 I think but the other 2 should be available. We get GWS F2 back in the trade so we’re not just giving up F2 to move up 6 spots. I just think the step between 11-21 then 22+ is huge.

Yes, factored in the "go back" too.

16 is 20 on my board.

Hardeman (19), Roberts (20), Green (21) & Reid (22).

Our 23 is 27.

Edwards (26), Collard (27), Schoemakers (28).

Just can't see the need to cough up anything to move between the two.

Would people do 37 and 58 for Gold Coast 32 and 71?

Would give them an extra 40 points and bump us up in the 30s a bit (specifically, ahead of Freo’s first pick if we’re worried about them taking Collard).

GC would argue that the 71 would come back significantly after all bids, potentially costing them points.

I'd be looking to split 23 which will likely be 27 after bids.

Swap for Richmond's 29 (30 after bids) and 41 (40 after bids).

Add a F4 (50's pick) as a sweetener.

Richmond can then use as first pick on Night 2 or auction off.

Would be interested to see who’s on your board between 15 and 25

Gold Coast are an interesting one to watch.

If they match McWalter (2), Read (6) and Rogers (12) they will need 4,427 (after discounts).

They only have 3,877 points.

They'll be hoping these guys slide.

Read somewhere they loaded up on next year anyway, to accommodate a deficit next year

Edit: ignore

I thought it was as below. Meaning 4-8 rookies if you have 44 players (excluding category b).

We might be able to 'one red paperclip' our way up the order by pulling off a bunch of smaller trades with incremental value :p

The 44 max includes two Cat Bs.

The only sides to have more than 44 players this season (other than going over due to replacing inactive players, like us with Maric replacing Culley), were North and Gold Coast, both due to extra list concessions.

You can have
36 senior/6 Cat A rookie
37 senior/5 Cat A rookie
38 senior/4 Cat A rookie

I haven’t seen enough to rank after 25 with any conviction but otherwise fairly similar top 25:

  1. Reid (WC)
  2. Walter (GC)
  3. McKercher (NM)
  4. Duursma (NM)
  5. Watson (Haw)
  6. Sanders (WB)
  7. Read (GC)
  8. Caddy (Melb)
  9. Curtin (GWS)
  10. O’Sullivan (Geel)
  11. Rogers
  12. Croft
  13. Murphy
  14. Windsor
  15. Wilson
  16. Leake
  17. Hardeman
  18. McCabe
  19. Tholstrup
  20. DeMattia
  21. Schoenmaker
  22. Stevens
  23. Edwards
  24. Roberts
  25. Reid
Cal releasing his tomorrow morning. Would be an interesting nearest the pin.

Another option.

Hawks 4

for WC F2, F3 and 23.

Gives Hawks a pick for Jiath this year (which they don't have at present).

Hawks probably won't do in case McCabe bid comes.

That’s 3 picks bundled up for 1

We need both quality and quantity which is the argument behind splitting pick 1 but the absolute quality of Reid makes keeping 1 worthwhile

But if we keep 1, we then need to get a range of picks so consolidating picks isn’t the best idea

We have 1,23,37,58 this year and our first 4 round picks next year.

That’s 8 picks over 2 years plus any FA signings or picks acquired by trading a player(s) out

Any picks we trade should be a 1 for 1 or 2 for 2 to maintain the number of players we draft in

I can see Curtin sliding as far as GWS Pick 7 in this draft, purely based on the needs of Haw (plenty of his type already), WB (also well equipped for his type) and Melb (would do backflips if they get Caddy).

Live trade for GWS Pick 7 / 16 for WCE F1?

It’s also a myth that you need top 20 picks alone to build a list. We got Long at what, 58 last year? Barrass was like pick 37? Allen pick 21?

You can find guys at later picks with the right scouting and development. Take Reid, figure the rest out later. We’ve already renegerated the list quite a bit the last 12-18 months. More to come, but we need building blocks. Reid is the key.
Just more victorian psyops
