Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

That’s not the sharpest comparison, it’s not like North are stockpiling future firsts, quite the opposite and definitely looking for some quicker wins

We can still use our current F1 for that next draft to pick up a gun at 1,2,3 or split and use to trade for Buss. The latter option with the additional benefit of seeing him go around another year before making that call, at no loss.

Not seeing the top 5 next year as a must is an oversight imo. I think what we pick up there in a mid heavy crop might be a better option than going for Curtin now. The decision to split / trade for Buss next year with the added knowledge of the next draft crop prior also won’t hurt
North had to trade those F1, as they were the compo picks that could be "reviewed" next year if they still held them. They've kept their own F1 which will be the valuable one. They have also had handouts two years in a row. They need to get a move on and start improving

Never forget North hold all the cards here.. :clubsemoji::diamondsuit::clubsemoji:

It's not about looking forward to the pick next year. It's the fact trading into the current draft you almost always pay a premium. So making a trend of this (ie. next year we can just trade back in) will ultimately lead us to missing out on top end talent despite in all likelihood being near the bottom of the ladder. To extract best value we should be patient.

So we should never trade future picks?

Like Collingwood does every year?

Sure. Why not. Let's just sit on our hands and do nothing and gift the opposition another advantage at the draft.

That how 10 year rebuilds occur. By sitting on your hands and not being proactive.

Who in the top 5 is so appealing to you?

I think it's less about trading future picks and more about giving up on a talent next year, who'll likely be far superior to Curtin in the midfield, just to draft a bloke who doesn't even know what his best position is.

If we want mids, it's fine to wait another 12 months for someone who'll be better at the role than Curtin. Then there's the likelihood Adelaide will offer up a significant amount to get access to Draper, which will be more than we can get in this draft.

If Curtin's drafted as a tall, he'll spend a fair time developing anyway, so it's not like he'll 'bring forward' our rebuild.

If there's opportunity to make bank on trading future picks then for sure, do it. It won't happen this year though, because it's likely WCE will be the ones making the attempt to move and will need to overpay to do so.

Just look at what it cost Hawthorn to move up a couple of spots just to get Josh Weddle, for instance.

No one has ever said that.

People have consistently said that trading away a F1 next year when we will be bad again is an unwise move. Would need to be a very very compelling offer.

Seen plently of people suggest trading F2 and F3 in various packages.

Its sheer stupidity to have a closed mind to consider options.

And you just seem more interested in looking forward to a future low draft pick than being proactive now and improving the squad now. That IS a very North way of thinking.

Turning our F1st plus say 37 into Curtin, Wilson plus a 2024 1st to trade for Busslinger is stupid?

Compared to who? We are getting our pick 1 generational talent this draft.

We add at live picks 1. Reid, 7. Curtin, 14. Wilson/ Windsor, 29. Wil Dawson or ZZ and 52. Cooper Simpson.

And have the F1st to either use or trade for a Busslinger.

Can always use future picks to trade in or upgrade picks and I dont see the top 5 as a must next year.

Honestly I don't know how north think but winning that last game makes you wonder if your theory is correct?
And regardless I still think we should keep our 1st for next year.. it'll be worth more when we likely finish last. Not sure why you think that getting reid means we don't need to go for the best talent next year too, very odd
If we split it next year, all good
Curtin could be amazing, he also could be someone who struggles to find a position he excels at at the next level

So what drink bottles are we all rocking?
I’m a yeti man myself. I just bought another one under the guise of wanting something replaceable and not the time released colours but it turns out they’re discontinuing the stainless steel numbers which is sad.

Still. Good drink bottles. Recommend

Any chance of us getting Ed Allen out of the pies next year? I reckon he and Curtin will probably end up about the same kinda role. That taller, rangy mid/flanker/winger.

Not sure, it's a drink bottle from one of our JV's that i purloined, along with a great windbreaker, when out there checking up on them. It's insulated, stailness steel, very good. Only the JV branding on it stops it from being anything other than a work drink bottle at my desk.

No we just wait another year in which time we're likely to improve enough so our future first won't be a top 2 pick.

The entire top 5 is more appealing than Curtin

Fair point on Curtin in terms of need. To use Draper as an example though there’s no way Adelaide is going to have more capital to offer us next year than they do this year. If that’s the trade we’re exploring it should be this year. They will also be after Petty next year which will lower their hand even more.
