Any chance Riley Hardeman slides to our second pick (29/30)?

Cal Twomey has him going to North in his Phantom Draft at Pick 22. North also have Pick 23 so call it Pick 23.

After that, only four “live picks” are between where Cal has predicted Hardeman to go and our R2 pick if we presume the bids for Jake Rogers (GC), Jordan Croft (WB), Will McCabe (HAW), Will Graham (GC) and Caiden Cleary (SYD) all happen in R1.

Pick 23 (NM): Riley Hardeman
Pick 24 (GC): Will Graham
Pick 25 (SYD): Caiden Cleary

Pick 26 (COLL): Logan Morris (strongly linked)
Pick 27 (ADE): Taylor Goad (Local ruck prospect)
Pick 28 (STK): Will Dawson (KPD)
Pick 29 (CAR): Ashton Moir
Pick 30 (WC): ??

If North are eyeing up Key position players with their later picks, Will Dawson could very well be picked ahead of Hardeman at Pick 22/23.

The likes of Arie Shoenmaker, Archer Reid, Archie Roberts and Tew Jiath would also all be on the board at this point in the draft who could be selected ahead of Hardeman perhaps

I tend to think so. Didn't want to jinx it but if North take Collard Hardeman may slide to us. Which would be great in my book as I think his ceiling is higher than he's given credit for. Potential Shep replacement for mine, prefer him out of the three of him Collard and Tholstrop.

Well I'm happy to take Charlie Edwards with our second if he's still there if its the wing you want fixing. We have Chesser, Burgeil, Hough and Hunt all capable of playing the role ahead of Gaff. His being cooked doesn't really mean he's not going to continue to get games in 2024 though even if we do draft another wing.
Chesser has shown less than Bazzo so far. Hunt is older than Barrass and half the player. Hough established himself as a small back this year. If Hough and Burgiel switch to wings all that means is we have to draft small defenders.

I think the saints are quite keen on him so he probably doesn’t get past their 2nd pick

My feeling too. I think he would be a great get if he does slide.

Carlton list manager sounded keen on Moir, Collard and Edwards today on the Gettable show at Pick 22.

I found it interesting that he mentioned one of their reasons for sliding back in the Draft from 17 to 22 in the Zac Fisher trade was that they believed the player they wanted to select at 17 would still be there at 22. You would think that eliminates Hardeman from their board and reinforces the chain of thought they they will opt for Moir.

St Kilda is the concern if they are keen on him.

Not sure about the relevance, but Hunt was better than Barrass in 2023.

Now that we’re less than 24 hours out does anyone want to have a crack at who we’re taking assuming we don’t trade?

1-Reid
23-Murphy/ZZ
37-Freijah
58-Hall
73-Lorenz
Bold prediction:

North Melbourne save us from ourselves and offer GWS pick 15, 17, 18 for 7, 43, 59 and take Curtin. We draft Finn O’Sullivan next year who wins the rising star.
I'd be pretty happy with that haul

My ideal draft tomorrow

1.Reid
7. Curtin
16. C. Edwards
37. ZZ
58. Freijah

F1&23 for 7&16

We get our franchise player in Reid. Curtin our next defensive general. Move up a few spots to snag a big bodied mid in Edwards. And round it out with a raw talented KPD in Zz and a big Vic country winger in Freijah.

A man can dream

Or D.Wilson rather than Edwards

Would love Freijah too but doubt he gets to 58

ZZ and Curtin??

Should get to North.

The phantom draft having us taking sanchez and collard is disgusting, so many small forwards as it is
I think Collard may be seen as a wingman long term.

And no issue with taking a few small forwards. Cripps is nearly done, Long and Petch should play more upfield, Ryan coming back from injury. Provided they have some flexibility it's an area we could strengthen.

If they're best available just go for gold.

For everyone wanting to know the time Long burnt Sheed, It's at 1:30 in this vid:

Thanks for posting this, the guy is behind long and right on top of him screaming for him to give him the ball, literally no advantage in doing so.

Do some hard work and get yourself into an advantageous position before trying to scab posessions from the harder work of the first year for ****s sake dom. If you care about the team you tell long he’s got time and space so he can execute a kick under no pressure instead of trying to pad your own stats.
