I think Collard may be seen as a wingman long term.

And no issue with taking a few small forwards. Cripps is nearly done, Long and Petch should play more upfield, Ryan coming back from injury. Provided they have some flexibility it's an area we could strengthen.

If they're best available just go for gold.

I dont know where this idea has come from that we have heaps of small forwards. We don't have that many considering four start in the team most weeks.

Not sure about the relevance, but Hunt was better than Barrass in 2023.

Do you genuinely think that Hunt is anywhere near Barrass overall tho? Hunt was solid this year but he is still an average wingman with a shit kick that wont be in our next premiership side.

While Barrass is more structurally and positionally important there are many, many worse players than Hunt (even at West Coast) who have been integral to premierships. If Chesser and say a Burgiel and Simpson/Hastie (should we pick up such a player tomorrow) force Hunt out of the side than more the better. That is healthy competition.
As to the previous question Charlie Edwards seems to be a great option as an outside midfielder rather than a winger specifically.
I know that they are relatively interchangeable but there is a difference.
I doubt Edwards will fall to our pick in any event.

It would be a meh from me. He'd only pull a JHF if we were a complete basket case (similar to Judd), and can't be upset if that occurs. It's on the club to make itself a desirable place to be.

As per the below article Freo has agreed to a trade with GC for pick 36 or 38 for later picks. Wonder if they are trying to get ahead of us with 36 for Edwards or ZZ
