Oh well just watched the news and apparently the Hawthorn fire sale isn't quite what it's cracked up to be.

Supposedly they have denied that Sam Mitchell is calling and begging other clubs to help them out of their self-inflicted list mismanagement hole. Apparently it's just Kennet being Kennet again and picking up where he left off with Clarkson.

So if we are going to flush our draft picks down the toilet a la Geelong we might have to find some other geriatrics to do it with :p

They are scared of getting screwed over and trying regain some ground

Mitchell in a treloar style deal wouldn't be too bad

question: given our current hand would we be better off try to trade
  • pick 7 & next years 1st for Suns pick 3
  • pick 7 & next years 1st for Tom Green
  • Keep what we’ve got.
understanding that we’re going to have to offer a fair bit for either option - and no guarantee that these options would be accepted by Suns / Giants anyway. But might give Giants salary cap space and currency to get Lobb.

Weren’t you suggesting Clarke and Hartley could be losing their jobs in a years time in this same thread yesterday? ;)
I never mentioned anything to do with the CCJ trade. I stand by our missed opportunity to get a third 1st round pick.

But this was a very good deal and they should be applauded accordingly - which I already did.

You can be critical of the club and still support the club - they aren't mutually exclusive.

Bloody hell,

Pick 4 this year
Pick 4 next year, or better
Pick 18 next year, probably better.

I don't have to be a stats guy to know that those picks are gold for a rebuilding club. We're all hearing about how it's so important to draft a bunch of high picks at the same time so they can develop together.

Norf are nucking futs to reject that offer.
Either North are nuts or Adelaide are.

No way is Horne-Francis worth that.

What’s next? Trade pick 1?

Whenever I see free hit it reminds me of the dribble we used to justify getting r*ped by Port on the Polec trade.

Yes we are in a stronger position But it is not through good management but finishing on the bottom of the ladder.
