You can take 3 picks to the draft and then live trade and have 6 picks that you can pass on as points. Why would the Dogs care about getting our picks in the 20s when they are just going to get wiped out by the Darcy bid anyway.
Those two picks on their own are valued at Pick 10, so not in our favour for Pick 17 and they are also only worth 1400 points when they will likely need around 1700 so it doesn't work for either party
The only thing that may affect it is the Dogs number of available list spots for picks to take to the draft
PS: That's only one of my many problems!Well there's your problem right there. You shouldn't listen to the radio, watch tv or read papers

This year I agree that the W.A. kids appear better than the SA kids, however, that is not always the case.
Na I'm just not ****ing delusional like youAre you a Bulldogs supporter?
So, does anyone think they know the answer to this?
If we leave Miller, Stack, etc uncontracted right up to the draft....
We can then take 7 or whatever picks to the draft - use them to live trade and ensure we still leave list spaces for our uncontracted players.
BUT, can we then just sign these uncontracted guys after the draft?
Or, do we actually have to officially delist these players and redraft them?
It seems to be a strategy some pies supporters are talking about and how they'll be able to use like a dozen crap picks to match the Daicos bid.
What was his Insta post?Re Dimma, I think what happened at Hawthorn this year is very instructive. With recent retirements at our club and more to come (Cotch, Jack?) we are going to get younger out of necessity. The word at the Dawks is the younger players where firmly behind Mitchell. If you are just starting out, its doesn't how many premierships you have, you just want to feel you get your shot.
I also think that the last 12 months was very humbling for our club, especially off the field. I think there are some scars and the place is very tired physically and emotionally. Gale is a pretty progressive fella and I really don't think he is going to let us just fade. I think his Instagram post yesterday was also very interesting.
As for replacement - Newy or Kingsley?
So effectively we dont need to trade for Tarrant and can just pick up through as a DFA with no implications to the chol compoAny player out of contract by the draft would technically be delisted. Contracts expire end of October. Not a major issue as they can be signed as DFA’s after the draft but if another club wanted an unsigned player they could pick them up for free. So not a bad strategy for fringe players or loyal players but other than that it probably isn’t worth the risk.

Actually, can any club just do that instead of the Pre Season Draft that is such a big factor in the CCJ trade? So effectively we dont need to trade for Tarrant and can just pick up through as a DFA with no implications to the chol compo

Imagine the melts if after all the North gloating we end up using the PSD.No, as per below.
Unfortunately, a player is not a delisted free agent if they retire, they reject a contract offer from their current club or delist themselves.
We could still use PSD option for Tarrant but would have to hope no one else takes him.

Essendon GM of football Josh Mahoney has hinted at what the Bombers are planning to do with their first-round pick in the 2021 AFL Draft.
The club currently holds pick 11 in the upcoming draft, then no picks until the third round after pick swaps last year.
Fresh off their raid on the first round of the draft in 2020 that netted Archie Perkins, Nik Cox, and Zach Reid all in the top 10, the Bombers are once again planning to take multiple draftees early on.
“The work that Rob Forster (national recruiting manager), Adrian Dodoro (list manager), and I have done on the draft, we’d like to have a few more picks,” Mahoney told Sportsday.
“We’ll try to get involved in some potential opportunities there.
“We think there’s a good group of players between the 10-25 (pick) mark, so if we can get a few players through that, I think it can add to the three first-rounders we brought in last year.”
Perkins and Cox have shown enough in their first year to suggest they will become successful pickups for the club, while Reid only played the one game after suffering glandular fever and a back injury.
The Bombers have one of the youngest list profiles in the AFL and showed significant improvement in 2021 to make the finals.

26 + 28 for Essendon's 11Maybe consider #26 + #28 (1406pts) for their #11 (1329pts)? That's the best they could possibly get from us.
If we did this, I's nearly cop 40 from North for CCJ,26 + 28 for Essendon's 11
11= 1329
26+28= 1406
gives us 7 , 11 , 15 , 38 , 42 , 47
Has kicked over 40 goals and been excellent throughout finals , he gets a chanceWell that grand final was a better standard then the WAFL one. You’d reckon a club would take a punt on Stengle.
