But what is he worth? He does have limitations (speed/disposal?) and had some significant injury concerns this year - hammy / shoulder? I think he'd be a good player worth a mid-first rounder but certainly wouldn't want to throw the kitchen sink at him.

For 7 & 15 picks as much as l want Green; l am going to the draft and get 2 similar to Green??
I think the fact that we offered 7, 15 and CCJ (who we clearly valued around 20) for pick 1 should tell us plenty about how we see this draft, in particular the value of those selections compared to a single player we see as far more likely to be a long term, elite player for us.

The question is, how do we (the club) value Tom Green vs pick 1 (JHF). Green has had a couple of seasons development and franked his credentials as a top 10 pick. Not too crazy to suggest we'd consider parting with a similar package of picks if we really wanted to go hard for him.

I think the offer to North for pick 1 should also temper our expectations of getting 3+ guns in the draft. That will obviously be the hope, but the club clearly preferred the option to nab one (near) guaranteed gun, vs two or three guys who may never be anything more than solid AFL foot soldiers.

If you want Tom Michell, offer
15,38 for Mitchell, Hawthorn 2022r2.
I think that is actually a good deal for hawthorn.
If they pay say 2 years of $300k, adjust the 2022r2 to 2022r3.
I doesn't look like we are even interested in Mitchell...

Not only do I not want Tom Mitchell I don't even want to hear rumours about Tom bloody Mitchell...
Just speaking for myself of course

I do like the sound of Tom Green - whether it be this year or next - mainly because he is the type of player we need (first possy), a big boy and he has Tiger blood.

Also, if we land Hobbs in the draft this year - they seem pretty similar types. I dont think we'd be able to play these 2 in the same team
He ain’t worth what we will be asked to pay. Pass

Well hasn't Trade period totally petered out this week...

& I don't mean ex Tiger champion Ricky Petterd....

Spoke to my contact.

1. We are so tight with the salary cap, its very unlikely we could get someone like Mitchell without Hawks paying and our players renegotiating contracts.
2. We are working actively to package up picks to move up (1st or 2nd round). That's their main focus right now.
3. Not Richmond related - but Jason Horne-Francis is 99% going to Norf. Apparently the young fella has been researching North history and players etc. He want to go 1 and has accepted it will be at Norf. Norf can't be happier with his attitude.

That's all for now!
First 2 points are spot on👍 Lines up with what I’ve learned recently

Agree, its counter productive.

the proponent posters of all in on Tom Green are not doing him nor RFC any favours let alone GWS.

Really our best approach is to let him be and if he wants a change of scenery later, we will be answering calls preferably as a free agent and GWS is towards the bottom so they get a good compo pick to

Illusions of grandeur with that reply. Your basically saying the professional administration and players are subscribers to all the trade threads of BF with the minions.
Sorry…….No dude.

The obsession with Tom Green in this thread is borderline sickening..! No pressure kid just be like Judd or you will be crucified....
he’s not even at Richmond, not in same city nor state, contracted 2 more years at GWS

but

he better get 3 votes vs blues round 1 otherwise he’s dead to me

BS, fake narrative if I ever saw it.

Posturing for Tom Green is not dealing in reality.

You creating a story.

I am saying all players are aware Melbourne are strong because they do not have a Lobb on 700K or a Coniglio on a million so to win a premiership they(the players) can't go in either direction at huge cost. Ben Brown went for less than 600K and little trade value, simples

Look at Dangerfield, went to Geelong for zilch premiership return and Geelong got a relative good deal for Danger. Timing is everything and Tom knows he is not stupid to get sucked into the ramping on BF

Facts are when Greene retires, and others, Kelly at the end, Green will be a free agent and GWS closer to the bottom.

A lot of clubs are looking to salary dump, including those that have not even broadcast it, because some assets are simply overvalued for their team to be competitive in terms of maximising the list within the cap compared to better list spreads like Melbourne

he’d only get an offer if he was delisted. And if we did that we’d have to pay out his contract which goes into the TPP. We’d be paying for a player we don’t have on the list. I don’t know what he’s on, you’d think at least 450.
That would only be if he doesnt get picked up by another club which we would not do in that case

But if there was a club he wanted to go to and they were prepared to take his contract and or it was a mutual agreement we could delist him and he gets taken by another club then his salary would not be included in our TPP.

But cant see that happening

I would do that in a minute but no chance hawks would do that
picks #15 + #38 for Mitchell and pick #25 is what it breaks down to become

You’re seriously delusional.
